Beautiful day here. Wife had to get a biopsy done on a lump found on her breast. On quick inspection it looks benign, but they need to wait a week or so for pathology results to come in. Praying those results confirm that it's benign.

Just getting over a serious bout with the common cold. Wife had it at the same time. Fortunately it wasn't covid, but hit me hard anyway. Next week getting hand surgery. Just looking forward to September when Ted and I can meet up for a smoke.

Finally finished getting my custom Model Seven ready for the season. Well worth the trouble I think. Sweet. I had a Bell and Carlson stock on a 1st generation 270 Win Ruger 77. My friend who actually hunts wanted it so it went home with him. It had a 3.5x10 Vari-X-III.

This popped up in my alerts from Amazon treasure truck, and has a lot of good reviews, I cannot vouch for it, but it does have a carbon filter for smoke. Treasure truck deals generally go quick. www.amazon.com/tt/webviewimgur.com/a/qUVK9xE

Some of you will agree, some disagree, but I got my first tattoo today at the ripe old age of 53. I got a simple design to commemorate the dog we lost in 2015 because he was that dog for me. He was smart, intelligent, had a great personality and he was MY DOG. I will miss him for the rest of my life I'm afraid...

Died way too young. He was a handful at times. Make any pipes lately?

Working on some repair work, all stem replacements, but aside from the Anse I posted a while back that I still need to fix the stem on nothing new.

Haven't been as busy in the workshop either. Summer is time for outdoor hobbies (and chores). Got a drilled out block on the work bench that will become a billiard. I'll get busy when the weather chases me indoors.

I lived with a Malamute girl dog in the 1980s and 1990s. She was wonderful friend. A neighbor in the next town has two wolves, Red and Timber mixes. Litter mates. They are very lovely animals. Not friendly like my Malamute. The male can be playful on occasion. Sitting down to dinner with my neighbors, the wolves keep circling the table. The female sits at my side and I hand feed her pieces of meat from my plate. She so carefully takes the meat from my hand. Their humans were amazed she did not snap at it. I knew she would not do that. Just like my old Malamute. Wolves are so smart and careful. These are well cared for and it shows. So, I get the tattoo idea. Eternal memory.

Dark with heavy rain and lotsa thunder and lightning. Warm, too, so windows and doors open for ventilation. Fans going to move air. River flooding into irrigation supply canal which means I cannot shut off water flow. We got water whether we want it nor not!

Much thunder and instant lightning directly overhead. This spot has long been a magnet for lightning. Three tall 2 story buildings with high pitched metal roofs. My one story house. Seems to draw it in. My house has been struck twice with lightning discharged inside.

Years ago I saw a video where people were deep under an awning with pony walls watching a storm. The vertical lightning strike just before it hit the ground went horizontal and reached in to get them… that was nuts!

We're up to 7 inches in the past week.

Past strikes have taken out a TV set, a dvd plyer, a Satellite TV box, and my well pump. Regular loss of transformers on the utility pole. Lightning Rods can attract lightning and are seldom capable of conducting the amperage safely. So says my Electrical Engineer friend and teacher. That is unless one is installed about the size of the Eifel Tower. It is possible to install something smaller which could be effective but is expensive!!! Why here? Tall buildings with metal roofs.

Irrigation canal is flooding. Shut off at the diversion dam but the creek is overflowing into it and sending more water than we can handle. I am sending water where I can without adding to anyone's problems. Hoping the creek will soon drop from its current 240 CFS to its more typical 45..

We've got 4 metal roofs, but we are under several 200 ft pine trees and actually we are at the top of a hill in a little valley so even the trees are aren't the tallest things in the area. The hay barn behind us probably gets that honor.
