Gubernatorial primary day here. My polling place is 20 miles away but I’ll be making the trip, as always. May combine it with a supply run and a fine Mex lunch. ‘Tis a Good Day all around!

Getting our entire home water system replaced today. The second owner of the house installed a massive carbon filter & filtration system along with a chlorinator. It takes up about 25-30 square feet in the garage. While he may have maintained it, the owners just prior to us managed to abuse and neglect it just like they did with about everything else here.
Other than that, it's going to be a lot of reading in preparation for the next school year. If the wind dies down long enough, I might go fishing.

Five Apache helos overhead. Gubmint. Huge fire in the next valley over, smoke working its way over here through the canyons. I can smell it now.
Working with Caterpillar excavator and crew widening irrigation ditch. Hand dug by ancestors of my neighbors in 1850. Needs a little help just now. A few miles. Hoping there will be water to fill it!

I've been working every day of the flowerbeds on the front of my house. The landscaping was 22 years old, so we had all the bushes pulled out last fall.
This spring I've been pulling out all the rock and ripping out the old landscape fabric underneath.
Then churning up the soil, mixing in a little sand, putting down new fabric, planting flowers/perennials then putting the rock back in.
I'm a little over half done, but it got into the mid 90's today and I had to quit early.
I figure it'll be done in another week or so, just have to work slow in this heat.
According to the temperature indication on the security cameras, it's 100 degrees right now.
