Today I get my Four Score and Three merit badge, or maybe it’s just a DE-merit badge. What a ride it has been and maybe, with some luck, there’s more to come. Some stress, some heartache, but mostly a great time so far. A few bumpy roads but — OH!— the sights! I highly recommend it. One warning: growing old (whatever that might be) is not for sissies. But if it don’t kill ya right away you can have a great time and thumb your nose as you pass your use-by date. Yahoo!

So, we're packing up, and getting ready for a week at Nags Head North Carolina, and my wife says, " for God's sake, get on Amazon and order some cargo shorts, and a few shirts...everything you own makes you look so old"... my reply," Well then, should I take my dentures, or leave em here?"

You should ask her, are you getting in form since we are going to nag’s head with your nagging? On second thought, maybe not.

Have a great time. I don't do shorts. I AM old. When I was in my 20s I lived in cut-off 501 jeans and sleeveless t-shirts. No one wants to see that now.

My wife bought a purse for $1 at Goodwill, the same purse regularly sells for about $75 on EBay.
She found two gift cards inside it, went online and the In-n-out card has $75 value.
Potbelly Deli $75 value.
Not a bad return on a Washington!

I saw a news story some years back about what a boon gift cards are for retailers. Just the unspent change on cards is quite a bit of money, let alone, lost/ misplaced cards.

Happy birthday, Bob! My wife turns 60 on Sunday, we came up to the Mogollon Rim. Pinetop/ Show Low and got a cabin for a few days. Happy birthday to the Missus! We really can't wait to get back to Arizona. So much we didn't see because we wasted time on the big hole. I want to get to the Arizona Strip and see Zane Grey country. Also spend more time at Mongollon Rim.

We just had someone steal my wife's Amazon password twice and buy Xbox gift cards. They are intercepting her 2-part login. I think that gift cards are a great way to scam people.

I was at a training course all week. For some reason, when using my mobile network, the Patch isn't accessible. Good to be back.

I mowed my front area y’day. The dandelions are always the first up, before the grass takes hold. Almost immediately several squadrons of dive-bombers attacked the shredded and scattered dandelions— goldfinches! They hardly waited for me to put the mower away before their onslaught. I sat on the deck and watched with great satisfaction and amusement. They’ll be back again when the cedar berries are ready.

Making another periodic attempt to obtain Homeowners Insurance.
I have been turned down every time I applied since 2007. Redlining zip codes is the most typical response. Most companies will not write coverage when there has been an absence. That I did not create the absence of coverage does enter their thinking. Back in 200,7 all the banks left the area and the insurance companies went with them. No loans, no credit, no insurance. Started changing recently with the rise of the Credit Unions. Hopefully, HO insurance will follow!

If a tree falls on it I guess it would eventually be Built Back Better. 😜

Lost my dad early this morning. Past few weeks has been tough and the decline was rapid. We knew that it wouldn't be long. Reunited with mom. RIP, Dad. Dang! I'm sorry to hear that, Pete. My prayers are with you and yours

I guess exposed beams are harbingers of loss? LOL!

Yesterday, my Army Surplus, Model 1942, chair, desk, oak, Sergeant's , butt supporter, broke and unceremoniously dumped me onto the floor.
From this chair, countless NCOs and clerks pushed pencils and shuffled papers through WWII (The Big War), Korea, Viet Nam. When I sit in this chair for work, triplicate carbons copies does not seem so difficult. Certified True Copy is as real as can be.
I replaced the failed swivel pin with a threaded rod. That is only temporary. You see, the entire load of fat Johns and assorted NCOs rests upon one 5-16 inch steel pin. I need to replace it with a Grade 8 bolt. There is far too much resting upon this. LOL!
