Back home from a 2 day vacation. 450 miles of beautiful scenery. We've never gone leaf peeping before and driving through the Ozarks in the wind and light rain was like being in a VanGogh painting. On the way home the sun came out as we drove through the Choctaw Nation. Must have been a very lovely trip! It was. We thought that the weather would ruin it, but in my truck the high winds and rain just added to the scenery. We had lots of fall color for the whole trip, it started in our yard. It's the first time we have visited the mountains that are only a couple of hours away. Not the Rockies by any means, but still very scenic. Lots of nice people too.

Burning the lamp at both ends most of this week. Working my normal 8 hour day shift and then working maintenance window from 11:45PM-5:45AM. Fortunately, each night we're likely only working until about 1-2AM of that window. Wife and I are going to see the cantata Carmina Burana this Saturday evening in theater.
Andrew Constantine, conductor Brett Deubner, viola Fort Wayne Philharmonic Chorus Purdue Fort Wayne Chorus Fort Wayne Children’s Choir Soloists – TBD
"This raucous evening will take you on a wild ride, from the musical that launched Bernstein’s career to a world premiere composed by Fort Wayne native Patrick O’Malley, commissioned by the Philharmonic, and performed by violist Brett Deubner. Then, with its large, percussion-driven orchestra and mixed chorus that sings racy texts by wayward monks, Carmina Burana celebrates the joys of the tavern, nature, humor, and love."

Snowing long. Snowing hard. Cold as it should be. Hoar Frost likely.
Fire blazing in wood stove. A mixed beveridge. Owing to what is available, a punch of Everclear, York Gin(Bottom Shelf for sure), juniper berries, cardamon seed, angostura bitters. SHould be heated in a pewter mug using a red hot iron poker. Sydney Carton style.

Just saw that some climate protesters glued their hands to the floor of the Volkswagen museum in Germany. The museum management said that they respected their right to protest and they closed the museum at the end of the day, turned off the lights and heat and went home.
"The 9 protestors "pleaded for medical treatment because their hands were sore and moaned that they couldn’t go to the toilet." The paper interviewed one protester who said of staff, "They refused our request to provide us with a bowl to urinate and defecate in a decent manner while we are glued," and, "We can't order our food, we must use the one provided by Volkswagen. Lights off. Random unannounced checks by security guards with bright torches."
I just love it. I think that the next time they glue themselves to a painting in a museum, they should be left in place as a work of modern art. People could discus them and take pictures

I guess one of the tactics of European miscreants is to sling gallon jugs of milk on the floor as they protest the inhumanity of milk drinkers. It is hard to think of these idiots as fellow human beings.
I agree, Ron…but I think that these spoiled rats need to be shipped to being servants in third world countries. They seriously need to be recalibrated on normalcy.

I applaud the management of the VW museum. How much sheer stupid arrogance does it take to desecrate a place and then complain about not getting first class service? (Don’t answer, please!)

I like when they glue themselves to whatever, can’t run away and kicking their asses is much easier, I know I’m old school should hug them and praise them, WHAT A CROCK OF 💩!

3986 miles in 4 days is rough on your body and mind.
5979 in under 2 weeks is just plain ridiculous.
I made all the trips with little trouble
Thank you all. Whatever you sent my way worked in my favor.
Now to focus on what's most important.
