I do know your in my corner. Dang it feels good to be working. Bucking logs behind the faller today. Making some real sawdust! I am but I am trying to make wood chips. Saw dust gets finer when the chain is dull.

Thank you gentlemen. Days like today are becoming very familiar. It appears that my "username" is more fitting now than it was when I joined years ago. Hang in there the pup has your back and so do a few around here.

Thrilled to hear things are going well for you, Ted.
Not so thrilled to hear things aren't looking so good to you, Josh. Hang in there. They didn't look so good to Ted a while back, either.

My wife is up making me lunch. She has done this more times in the last week than I can remember since we got together in 99 and married in 06. I am feeling lucky. Alarm goes off at 3:45 and I gets up and start getting ready. Takes me a little longer to get ready than it did 20 years ago. Nice to go to work at the same time every morning. Just sitting here enjoying my morning coffee dressed ready to go.

Enjoying morning coffee in the gardens. Was supposed to be weeding, but ended up just sitting. Listening to the world wake up around me.

What a day!
Started off with a massive debris jam in the main irrigation canal. This was he result of a thick growth of Red Willows chocking the ditch. Too big to hand remove, need a backhoe.
Got backhoe to ditch in a few hours. So much water overtopped the ditch banks the field was saturated. This is a field devoid of rocks and filled with the nicest soft loamy soil. So it became a mud bog trapping backhoe.
Task now became free backhoe. Eventually the operator was able to dig himself out leaving the field a mess.
Had to use a grappling hook and about 50 feet of cable. Buried hook, repeatedly, in bottom of debris dam which means going underwater in full dress to set the hook. That water was snow melt the day before. C-O-L-D.
After repeated attempts, hook held and we were able to pull the dam apart with the backhoe pulling the cable.
Water ran down the ditch and stopped leaking over the top. Then the debris got stuck in the next irrigation diversion gate and had to be removed by hand.
Trying to get my trackhoe excavator guy back here to remove all the willows that are creating the problem. Land owner does not maintain his property so we have to do it.
Now enjoying a Wild Turkey 101 with soda and a twist of lemon. Glad that is over with!

Yesterday I drove 550 miles and serviced 6 patients… dead man walking last night.
Today started in Cortez and onto the Ute nation Taowaoc rez… between six patients I muled off 8000 lbs of product in 3.5 hours. Some challenging shacks to get it into. Drove about 350 miles to Show Low to take care of the last patient… I should get home early tomorrow and have the next 3 days off, it isn’t all bad.

Getting ready for the annual Colorado Gun Collectors show starting Friday. We’ve had a table the last 7 years. Fun times. Like a museum where almost everything is for sale. Weatherman is predicting a bunch of snow Friday. 90 degrees for high tomorrow and snow 12 hours later. I love our weather.

What a busy week this week has been! It's like every week seems to be busier than the next. I'm hoping that things will calm down a little at some point.

I understand. I am still regretting the sale I made in 2010. All my nice old Colt revolvers and 1911s.

Gotta be a good gun shop that does reasonable consignments in your area. My local go to shop, charges 15%. I can live with that.

It was better than the last job by far. The benefits are pretty phenomenal, the boss is cool as can be, it is just the nature of the business. We have patients in far flung places dependent on what we deliver, without it they are the dead ones. I am not working for charity, I am paid well for what I do, but there is great satisfaction in helping others, and they are generally very appreciative. With the physical work, I do not know another person pushing 62 that is in better shape than I am, I can kick but on most any millennial that would attempt to do what I do, I have trained some of them that petered out...so there is that value.

I must be one of the last humans on the planet without a smart phone.
My new auto insurance company has told me that my policy premium will increase by $170 per year because I do not have a smart phone with which they can monitor my driving habits. I do not mind being monitored since I am old and drive like it. So, it seems the time has come for me to add a Smart Phone to the portfolio of annoyances plaguing me.
I refuse to spend more than $200 on this contraption. So, it seems a Samsung A12 might work. Anyone have experience with this device?

The insurance companies are constantly pushing the “let us track you if you want a good rate” they can go suck donkey balls before I will ever agree to that. For them to strongarm you in such a rural location is ridiculous. They rake in billions more than they pay out, but their greediness just increases their appetite.

I bought a Xaomi poco X3 Pro, which is a budget phone that packs a real punch. I'd check that out.

I like the idea of a premium based upon my actual miles and driving habits. Should be very low since I go no where mostly. Insurance companies certainly are as greedy as banks. Greed is what moves the world nowadays.

If it works for you, Godspeed!
I admittedly have an axe to grind against insurance companies.
My wife and I have excelllent safety records, We pay our premiums on time, but heaven forbid we ever have a claim, then it is off to the races as they treat us like we are criminals.
AAA will never get a dime from me again, but they want me back, every time I get a prepaid envelope from them, off to the file cabinet to stuff an envelope with a letter advising them what a horrible company they are, but they still keep trying.
With all of the pushing the companies do to get you to agree to track you, I suppose that it is just a matter of time before them, politicians, and bureaucrats mandate that all new cars have built in tracking installed to monitor your habits.
