I actually went face first, but I was never more than a few inches off the ground. I literally slipped out of the car door (you can see my leg still in the car). I was on my back laughing at the time the photo was taken. Karen is picturing Kate following you around with a video camera. She really likes Kate.

Blizzard seems to have petered out. Radar shows we are apparently done with it. Good riddance. With the wind it’s hard to tell what we actually got, but drifting is significant. Upcountry they got 2’ or so. Strange temp stability. Been 18° for 24 hours straight. I hope you make it through a 3 dog night with only 2 dogs.

Had to buy a ice scrapper as I had ice on my windows for the 2nd day in a row. Now watch it not happen tomorrow. I have bought several over the years in Houston and never used one twice.

Bad day here, 6 tornadoes around my area, winds very strong, rain heavy , dogs very excited, very lucky, New Iberia about 20 miles west of us was hit. Breathing relieved while writing this.

I dont own an ice scraper anymore, lost it when the tow company "lost" some of our stuff after towing a wrecked car a couple years back. I took a chance with some warm water.

Ah, Taos, NM. So Enchanted. Finally, after suffering for ten weeks with a really nasty skin condition from my head to my feet, today, I finally was able to see a Nurse at a Dermatology Clinic. She asked WTF? Couldn't your regular doctor or someone help? This is a simple problem requiring a prescription for Prednisone. So, I stood in line for an hour at the Pharmacy waiting for the medications she mentioned only to learn I cannot have any because they got the month of my birth wrong on the Script, so no dice. I can start again tomorrow or Friday or next week or maybe never. Who knows? Why we love Taos so much.

Trained a guy for a week and a half, acted like my best bud...something happened overnight and he isn't talking to me, acting like an enemy and told a supervisor that I am failing in training him in front of me. Friggin bizarre... the supervisor knows me, my work ethic is beyond reproach, so it isn't a big deal, but he is proving himself to be quite a piss ant.
I have spent a couple weeks trying to coach the guy in a deferential manner when he seems to lack the ability to grasp the technology that is simple to pick up in the 21st century, a real knuckle dragging 57 year old...last week he praised me as a tech wizard (which I am not) now he accuses me of denying him meals on the road, which never happened. He lacks the ability to run an electronic logbook which I could train a monkey to do.
There are some weird a$$ed people out there.

When I was in printing I trained an older guy and he acted so happy about it and he really got the hang of it. We were having a department meeting about something else with the VP of production and the guy just pops out with "the first thing you should do is fire Ronnie".

Not much sense of loyalty out there anymore, it seems. Just plain ol’ stand-up decency seems to have taken a big hit.

Good grief, some people would drive you spare! Some people in some spheres of work are ruthless. We need more Ruths around.

Tornados are like being forced to play Russian roulette. If you don't get the loaded chamber you still get to help clean up the mess. Really heartbreaking with a couple of dead kids and others that lost everything right before Christmas. People are on top of it, helping and getting things cleaned up. Everyone pitched in after the last round and got Hughes Springs cleaned up so you can barely tell they got hit, except for all the missing buildings. It's a great way to meet your neighbors. Just hope you don't have to bury them.

Happy Bill of Rights Day! As a reminder, the states refused to ratify the new Constitution without specific right being spelled out in writing. With the first 10 amendments approved, things moved forward.

Seems to be temperatures are heading to well below Zero Fahrenheit in the next days..
Hoping to get the house warmer than 59 degrees. Although, that is not too bad when in good health.

New compressor arrived yesterday for the air compressor I bought this summer for half price New. Had it wired up this Fall and it made a heck of a racket turned out that one piston rod broke at the crank. Called Grainger who had donated it to Habitat For Humanity and the lady was not very helpful. Waited a few weeks called back different lady who sent me to the tech desk who ended up giving me Ingersoll Rand's number. Was dreading making another call but to my surprise they picked up quickly talked a few minutes about SN and model. Guy asked if I could change the compressor. Yes I can so he said he will send a new one and oil too. 10 days later it arrives and it is all put back together and running smoothly. I was very happy with Ingersoll Rand's customer support on warranty.

Not as simple as it used to be! If you lived closer I could bring you a nice load of Oak or Madrone for your stove to help out.

The extended forecast is about 66 degrees through Christmas, which is chilly as hell here, but the patio heater mitigates that nonsense.
Everything to the east is pretty blue on the forecast.
Suffering summers, wonderful winters in Central Arizona.

I got an email from HR, today, 10 days before Xmas. The subject line said, "Welcome to the team, Jesus!"
I thought we were taking this whole Xmas thing just a bit too literally.
Nah. We hired a Haysoos.
