Bob keep your old arse inside, DONT want to hear about a frozen man looking like a Christmas ornament on a tractor 😎 I had a similar thought, but you expressed it well. Bob, stay inside. There is an Irish Coffee with your name on it waiting in the kitchen.

That photo reminds me of the winter of 2005-2006. I could not reach my cattle for feeding and watering. The Ford F-250, even with 4 WD, could not make it through. My tractor was an IH 544 2-WD. But, I had this old timer running and it made it through with 250 gallons of water and 50 bales of Alfalfa. Low range 4-WD and Compound Low First Gear. It clawed its way through the bumper deep snow. I thought of the Red Ball Express re-supplying the 101st Airborne at Bastogne. Now that's a truck! I get so tired of the guy's on the Ram forum complaining about the 12 inch screens on their Power Wagons not working right, or the heated seats not being warm enough. I have a humorous story to relate about this truck. About the same year this photo was taken, I had a NM MVD Inspector come out to take a look at it so I could register it with the NM MVD. You see, the neighbor who purchased this from the US Government in the 1950s never bothered to register it since he never used it on public roads. As the two of us approached the truck, the MVD Inspector stopped and stared. Then he said, "I drove one of those from Normandy, France to Berlin, Germany." I replied, "Here is the key, take it for a spin". To which he said, "You could not pay me enough to drive that again." I guess no cab heater, no synchromesh, Six volt ignition, no power steering, was enough for him back in his youth.

You galoots piling on about me staying inside had the natural and expected result: Went out and got Harrison running and opened up the driveway and the paths around the buildings. Didn’t even try the road, no chance, and county says they are a-coming. I’ve got a great windbreak on the W, NW, and N so the snow was only about 6-8” around the homestead. All done now ‘til the country boys take care of that road. Thanks, guys! John, how you doing out there?

Still having appetite problems and cannot get warm.

Earlier in November or maybe Octrober I was on Prednisone for a week and then amoxicillin for another week.

I have had a cold for the last three weeks and it doesn't seem to want to move on. A virologist last night said that masking up for two years has led to everyone not benefitting from building up their defense against viruses.
I was saying that two years ago, and Fauci so much admitted it in his emails.
Tired of jackasses.

Not me. Not mandated by my company, but when attending to patients I do as long as I have symptoms...when the symptoms are gone, the mask is gone.

Just saw on the local news that they had a graduation ceremony at Barksdale AFB for new B-52 pilots. 2 of the graduates are 3rd generation B-52 pilots. That's amazing to me. The plane is 70 years old and they expect to raise one more generation before it's retired.

I would like to have a checker Cab in a new version...built like a tank with mechanical improvements that make sense, without bells and whistles like auto braking and such.

I tried to buy a Checker for several years in the 70s, but no luck. They were never popular in the south and the ones that came up for sale were expensive as heck. I particularly wanted the "civilian" version, but they were really scarce.

That's an excellent example at a decent price. However, I'm no longer in the market. We didn't have the Internet in the 70s.

A trip to the city to take care of a few things. Don't think I have made this trip by myself in over a year. First stop Urgent Care for possible sinus infection.

For the first time ever, I was able to get all 6 of my kids together. It took some planning, me cooking a few slabs of ribs, and every bit of my left over energy, but it all came together for a few hours this afternoon.
Life. Is. GOOD!!

Stop by gun store nothing for me there. Stopped by a retired engineers house for a visit and dropped of a gallon and a half of walnuts picked up 6 bags recycling a few mandarin s some ginger bread cookies for Little Guy. Got home ran him to grandma for the night then off to white elephant party. Got home about midnight cleaned and restarted the fire. All done! First solo trip to the city in about a year.

Went to Akron for a cornhole tournament yesterday and didn't throw well at all. My back went out Friday moving a range and just couldn't get comfortable throwing. The real kick in the butt was when leaving I picked up my roller bag to make my way up the stairs and my back went back in. Happy my back feels better and I don't have to go the the back doc but it could have done that a few hours earlier.
