Would he be a 'man from Florida' or is he actually known as 'Florida Man?'

Would he be a 'man from Florida' or is he actually known as 'Florida Man?' Just do a search for "Florida man" and look at the strange articles that come up. Just got a call that a backflow preventer is blowing water. It's more like a geyser. Brass doesn't do well when it freezes and is under pressure. It's a stupid system anyway. But there's not a replacement anywhere to be found locally. Luckily it's a rental house and currently vacant.

34Ā° today and going into high 40s later this week. Quite a change from -20 and very welcome. Took the boyz for a nice long walk among the melting drifts this afternoon. They were very happy rompers. Eli kept bringing me frozen starlings. Poor things just werenāt up to the deep freeze. With the warmer temps mud-time will be here soon. But itās a price I am willing to pay, while hoping we have had our blizzards for the year. A rash hope, perhaps, but I have to try.

Kept getting a error when loading the forum. Said forum not found error 300. Hit refresh and it let me in. Just killing time at work. Then my belated bday dinner (I had to work later then usual on Friday) with my parents. Been a slow day glad I got the forum to help make the day go bye.

Sitting around all day in beautiful weather, wishing I could have started my run to Colorado today and end up in Cortez, finish off the route tomorrow. Suppose to be a storm rolling in Tues. night/ all day Wednesday, and the city of Cortez is not big on plowing...they depend on some "magic juice" that doesn't work.

Only left the house today to visit the woodpile. Slept most of the afternoon. Ten days of Prednisone is hard on me. My poor old adrenal gland is pooped!

Well, nothing has happened with ye olde apartment yet. Management office was still closed today. Hopefully I can start seeing things moving tomorrow. I think theyāre going to have to move me to a different apartment. This is going to take a while to clean up. New ceiling. A lot of new sheet rock. New carpet and plumbing, obviously.

Personal property is okay so far, aside from some rugs. Whether it stays that way will depend on how long it takes to get the carpet dry or get my stuff moved out. TVA implementing rolling blackouts isnāt helping. Iāve got plastic over the bed, sofa, stereo, etc., but when it gets chilly in there because the power is off, condensation forms on the underside of the plastic.

I know weāre all fans of Ball jars, but have you guys seen the recyclable aluminum cups they make? I stopped at Kroger to grab some plastic cups to use while Iām a displaced person. They were sold out of those, but had these. Theyāre basically Solo cups, but aluminum. Pretty sturdy.

They sweat like crazy, the ice melts really fast and they hurt your teeth and freeze your hands. I see them in the stores all the time, marketed as retro. Some things from the 50s and 60s aren't worth remembering.

Canāt say my teeth have been bothered, but I havenāt tried chewing one.

My local Waterworks kept the pressure on the water going to our houses this last 4 days, they had a contact us on their website and I gave them a big attaboy. The lady in charge emailed me back and said the operators slept at the plant the whole time keeping everything running, was very happy to show the workers my email. I know what itās like to bust your arse and not get thanks, lot of people in this world never get thanks for making the world run right!

Carpal tunnel surgeries update: It's now been 6 1/2 weeks for my left wrist and 11 1/2 weeks for my right wrist since I had my endoscopic carpal tunnel release surgeries. Except for continuing to build back strength and stamina, my right wrist is back to normal. My left wrist has been tracking my right wrist's progress. At six weeks post op the "be gentle" restriction ended. Still some occasional soreness in the left one, but it improves every day. I have already been seeing my quality of life improve as I can already do things with my hands that I couldnāt do before. I am very very happy with the results. If anyone is suffering from severe carpal tunnel like I was, I highly recommend having the surgery.

Glad you're on the mend, John.
Not much of an update from here. Spent the day doing what I could to mitigate possible damage while I'm waiting for things to happen, trying to find out when things were going to happen, what those things might be, and trying to make arrangements for someplace to reside while I wait. Hotel rooms are in short supply right now.
