Gin and lemonade. Switched to Seagram's. No point in wasting good premium Gin which is best for Martinis.

It’s one of my all time favorites. Rather hard to find though. It’s 107 proof, but one of those bourbons that you can’t tell because it’s so smooth. Sadly, this bottle is empty. For decades Ezra Brooks was a dependable bottom shelf bourbon that came with a black label and cost $10. Good luck finding it between the apple flavor bourbon and the $50 crap. Those days are long gone. Even their “basic” version of bourbon costs more than Beam, etc. here now. This costs $45/5th and is well worth it. I think it’s better than Four Roses Small Batch Select which is a regular buy for me when I can’t find this. I rarely buy bourbon beyond the $50-$60 mark. Too much of it is popular because it costs more, not because it’s good. I got over that kind of thinking when I was in my twenties.

I don't need anything else.

Shiner Weisse 'N' Easy in a frosty mug. A low calorie wheat beer with a hint of dewberries. A good hot weather beer with a lot more flavor than the Lite beers.

I drank my first Weisse Beer in Berlin in 1981. Berliner Weisse with raspberry syrup. A great summer cooler. I did not know Shiner makes a Weisse Beer. Perhaps it is sold in Taos?

Years ago I used to drink Leinenkugel Weisse after mowing the lawn. Good stuff, but I haven't seen it in years. A lot sweeter with more fruit flavor than the Shiner. Almost like a wine cooler. The Shiner tastes like beer with a fairly strong berry scent. Raised a 2 inch head that settled quickly. I don't drink enough beer to make recommendations, but I'll give it a 3.7/5.

Modelo Espescial. A nice lager from the land down south of here. Enough hops to taste like beer.

The drive through goes really quick, far faster than any other fast food franchise, I think it is because they assemble the salads before opening.

Today makes 2 weeks without a drop of alcohol. I'm not sure how long I'll go before allowing a wee dram but wanted to take a break for now.
