More black coffee. Seems like about the only thing I drink anymore is lots of coffee and lots of milk. It helps keep me off the sugar from all of the Dr Pepper‘s and sweet tea.

Brought home a bottle of Sangria and one of Mexican Brandy. Makes a nice cool summer drink which is less impactful than other choices. I had to give up beer owing to the gluten problem.

It is always good to have a dry period. Just to make certain who is in control of which. When alcohol becomes a daily necessity trouble lies ahead. Exactly! It wasn't causing any issues or becoming a "problem" but was a daily routine. Like you said, a break is not only good physically but lets you know you're in charge. 👍 I did the same thing this last week. After a day at work out in the elements, I typically drink three or four beers at night, maybe with a couple chasers to the point it has become too routine. I drink so much water during the day, I get burned out on it, don’t care for sodas, Iced tea does not hydrate and when I drink it too late in the day I do not get good sleep. Beer and a cocktail or two tastes better, but along with the cumulative health issues as you get over time, can come the beer gut. I could stand to lose that. Surprised that since I made the decision to lay off the juice I haven’t had much of a desire and haven’t had what one could describe as the effects of withdrawal. Plus, beer prices have had a dramatic increase in price along with spirits, unless you get the spirits off the bottom shelf. Water/ water with liquid IV packets (and an iced tea or two up until 2PM). I actually feel a lot better during the day with this routine. Thanks, Darin and John.

And the decaffeinated stuff is pretty good. I use 1 family size teabag to a half gallon of water and no sugar. If it didn't hydrate it wouldn't be the national drink of Texas. I like alcohol, but I don't crave it. Beer is good in moderation, has been for millennia. I have 1 or 2 drinks a week when I remember.

Maybe I am wrong on the diuretic effects of iced tea, I was told that a long time ago. I only like black tea, and I like it strong.

But you can drink more weak tea faster. The diuretic would be the caffeine. Full strength Lipton black tea is about the same caffeine as strong coffee. Probably better with the decaf. Non-decaf has been hard to find around here in the family sized bags.

Always amazes me when a restaurant says that they serve tea and it comes from the soda fountain… in my books that is not tea, and it never tastes good. With the gallon sized brew basket pouches (Lipton) you can make 24 gallons for $4.00.
You can get them family sized in decaf from Amazon at a fair price, a little cheaper for me at the local restaurant supply store.

Herbal tea is what I've been drinking but sometimes brewed with green tea as well. There's many flavors to choose from. Stash Tea has a Meyers Lemon and a Lemon Ginger that are both very good.

I used to get China Mist for free when I delivered to their Scottsdale warehouse, but that ship done sailed.😕
Good stuff, but pricey for me when I am chugging it.
Thanks, Darin I will have to check them out.

One place was making it with bad city water and we told them about it. They got it straight real quick. It's usually Community, but sometimes Lipton.

On my second goblet of Sangria with brandy, strawberries and lemon. Just the drink for a hot evening. Back when we were outside all summer fishing and water skiing we drank a 50/50 mix of sangria and Sprite over ice for 10 am till dark.

Rescuing this thread from page 2 obscurity. Earlier was a Hofbräu Original Pilsner. Now, a DAB Dortmunder Export.

Drinking a green tea courtesy of hospitality crew at the Hotel. Very good! They are going to bottle me a 1/2 gallon for my vacuum chug jug.
