I cannot say that is something to try any time soon. If you enjoy it, "Salud y Pesetas". I know what you mean. It sounds yukkkkk. But it is kind of nice. A not as sweet ice cream soda. An adult ice cream soda, perhaps. I do get the yuks when I have one at a restaurant. Which of course is at least half the fun. So my understanding is that the drink is popular in Utah in part because Coke is popular among Mormons, while coffee is prohibited. It was explained to me that coffee is prohibited not because of the caffeine, but because it is a hot drink. So Coke is ok, even though it is caffeinated. I don't know anything about this first hand except what Mormon friends have told me. In any case to each his own or her own. But you are IMO missing something not to try a bit of half and half in your coke. And I have seen New Yorkers drink it. Having had LDS friends growing up, strictly speaking, they are not supposed to drink Coke or other Pop. That said, I hope they enjoy this concoction. |

Moxie soda my dad knows I like it and got me a 12 pack as a gift. Its probably a good think I can't get it outside of mail ordering or id drink too much of it,

Just made up some Old Fashioneds. Bulleit Rye, Barsmith Old Fashioned syrup, cardamom bitters, slice of orange and Traverse City cocktail cherries. I've got a bottle of premixed Bulleit Old Fashioned. It's fine. Cocktails aren't really my thing, but it's nice for when I want something cold. |
