My wife made ribs in the oven asi didnt have time for the smoker today. Texturally they were great but i miss the smoky flavor.

My wife made ribs in the oven asi didnt have time for the smoker today. Texturally they were great but i miss the smoky flavor. We oftentimes finish them in the oven after smoking them ... works great! Today's lunch was Chicken Parmesan with bow-tie pasta.

My wife has an aversion to too much smokiness, and to be honest, there is a bell curve on the amount of smoke. And… here in the southwest cooking woods carry a premium price…. All the stuff others take for granted have to take a long ride to get here.

Store bought Fried Chicken and the last of 4th July Potato Salad with chopped greens added. Shared some of the breast with my dog. She also enjoys Fried Chicken.

It really was...we don't even have a garden anymore, but my Brother-in-law is a third-generation landscaper, and his picture-perfect garden in overflowing ...once the in-laws process what they need for the year, the rest is up for grabs. We get the run of the garden, and his whole bunch goes down to the beach for two weeks, everybody's happy!

Fried egg and bacon on an “everything bagel”, after today I am going to try and moderate my diet. Arthritis has been my constant companion as of late, and it seems that cutting out (especially fatty meats), has a big benefit from keeping Arthr a constant companion.
