Lunch at The Wildcat's Den in Questa NM. Double Cheeseburger with French Fries. Skipped breakfast so I was able to consume the entire meal. Crossing the parking lot to my truck, a car speeding backwards while turning hit me. I could not get out of the way as the turning radius meant I had no where to go. If I could have leaped backwards the car might not have hit me. Being old, slow and having trouble walking meant little chance of escape. He came from behind me so I had no idea until too late. No injuries worth mentioning. The kid driving had no concept how to back up safely. Being that he was turning while backing meant the mirrors would not have enough field of vision to see pedestrians. Too many kids today have no training. He kept yelling "I could not see you." Yeah, that is clear enough. Drat.

I know medical care is a bit tough to get around there, but I think I'd see a doctor just to make sure. Getting hit by a car, even at relatively low speed, is no joke.

It takes about ten days to see a doctor. I do not feel a trip to the hospital ER is necessary. About like being thrown from a horse.

Dinner tonight will be a classic butter pie made with the usual onions and potatoes and the addition of sausage meat. Never heard of butter pie?
"Admiral Halsey notified me He had to have a berth or he couldn't get to sea I had another look and I had a cup of tea and butter pie..."

A Jimmie Dean Breakfast Sandwich, biscuit, egg, sausage and cheese. Perhaps it is a bit bland but of sufficient mass to fill the void.

Pork ribs for lunch with fried potatoes. So Supper will be something lighter. Perhaps home made potato-leek soup with Hummus on lettuce leaves and a side of Swiss Chard from the garden? BTW, I was weighed at the MD office yesterday and have dropped below 300 pounds, finally. Planning on continuing a slow reduction.

Is your change in diet still keeping the nausea away? Soft foods are easier to digest. The pork ribs mentioned earlier were fall-of-the-bone tender but still gave me a turn. So, easy on the meat seems best.

Being that it was Sunday, five of us traveled to San Luis CO to Mrs. Rios Thai Kitchen. Tom Yum Soup with vegetables and Massaman Curry with Shrimp and Tofu with Jasmine Rice. Hot Sake to sip. I have not had it in years and really enjoyed it. Nice group of humans. One from Wales, one from Ireland, and three Yanks. Added to the Thai people operating the restaurant, unusual gathering in a small remote community in southern Colorado.
