Pot Roast is finished. The liquid is thickening for gravy. Yukon Gold potatoes and steamed broccoli. Should be good. Enjoying a weak Martini while this cooks. A Kentucky made Gin. It is Ok but nothing like Tanqueray or Plymouth or Beefeater.

Went out for Indian food with my dad. I had land Vindaloo medium and he had lamb tika masala medium heat. I think medium is about right at this place. I had fun and as always enjoyed the company. My mom is still in the hospital but back at the psychical therapy place and doing a bit better.

Lunch was a small piece of baked salmon from some nights ago, a tin of smoked herrings from Nova Scotia, steamed broccoli.
Dinner will be leftover beef pot roast with its gravy, roasted red potatoes and spinach with feta cheese. Maybe a glass of Portuguese red wine. Probably a Touriga/Tempranillo blend. I am quite partial to the wines of Portugal, not well known in this country by most and an excellent value.

Two poached eggs and a store bought scone. Other than the shape, the market bakery staff clearly has no idea what a scone is supposed to be.
Lunch was cabbage and potato soup in a seasoned beef broth with tomato juice added. Large chunks of beef pot roast simmered in. Hoping it sits well in my stomach and guts!

In town today. Went to a place I know for lunch serving great salads. The problem was they forgot to add the chicken, the Greek olives, the feta cheese, the pepperoncini. I was still charged for the entire salad without the ingredients. Could not make them understand what the problem was. The waitress never read the menu and had no idea what I was talking about. Eaten there many times over the decades and always great. So, one mistake is not worth aggravation. Better luck next time.
