I have several hobbies, and therefore limited space for each. Just my rotation on display with about 12 ounces of baccy at hand. The excess is kept in larger mason jars in the kitchen cupboard, but not enough worthy of a pic. One of my other passions is table top miniature war gaming. I don't care of it is Sherman tanks or masses of Orcs; we like to paint the models, push around our toy soldiers and roll dice. So here's two shots juxtaposing each. The 2nd is my game table -- about four and a half feet in height, and 4' x 6' playing surface.

I had a study before kids. I will have one again, either after they move out or when we build our new place. Biding my time... 😁
Love these pics though; great setups guys!

Warhammer 40,000 is a blast. This is mostly fantasy terrain pictured, but my game group holds quite a collectionof suitable set-ups, spanning everything from 6mm sci fi all the way to 28mm world war II appropriate buildings. I'm currently obsessed with a game called Konflikt '47 -- which is alternative history. The genre is sometimes called, "Weird WW II" and includes American walkers, Tesla cannons, Japanese "ghost" infantry,Russian mutants and German werewolves in gas masks. What's not to love? :-)

I think in my new place I might be banished to the shed. Now that's just poor planning, LL. A Dr Reverend like yourself certainly deserves a private smoking den. P.S. If nothing else, at least negotiate for a power cord and a space heater.

I'd love a shed, something I could insulate and cool easily. Right now I'm relagated to the garage. Not too bad in the winter but I can't smoke out there in the summer, way too hot.

For us that are having to use an outdoor area for smoking, what are you using for heaters?

Since I have to sit on my porch in the "winter" I wrap myself in an electric blanket and that keeps me pretty warm. "winter" is here in central north Florida where winter is usually not around freezing. But being old, I need the warmth.

For us that are having to use an outdoor area for smoking, what are you using for heaters? I use a quartz heater I got at walmart. It usually brings my garage up from the mid 30s into the upper 50s, which I can handle. It was cheap, I'm sure a better heater with directed heat would do even better.

I just wear an appropriate jacket. I've got a nice covered porch, and don't mind the weather unless it is super windy.
YMMV,

For us that are having to use an outdoor area for smoking, what are you using for heaters? Before I got my shop I sat on the back porch with one of those big mushroom looking propane heaters. Works quite well but, if the wind picks up when its in the 30's or below its not gona help much. Best thing would to be (IMHO) to enclose your porch/patio/whatever you have, with screening to cut down the wind and yet let the smoke and propane fumes out. That's what I was going to do before I got busy with the shop.

I saw one of the tabletop models of those 3 foot tall propane heaters and it uses a small fat propane camping style tank. I wonder how long a tank would last?

I kinda doubt a little table top one would serve you well and they probably cost as much as the larger ones. I've bought two at two different times because of leaving one behind by mistake and they only costed me $100 not counting the tank of course. If your worried about height of them, both that I bought I reduced the height by half without too much trouble. The first one had two lengths of pipe and I only used one, the second one also did but, they made it where I had to cut about a 1/2" off the one and re-drill holes to accept the burner. Really not as much trouble as it sounds, probably took me a half hour at tops to do it and put together. They go on sale a lot at Walmart's and elsewhere of course now getting so close to winter they may not, just keep an eye out for'em.

I smoke in my recliner in the living room in front of the TV. I only smoke on the porch on perfect days. When I get the back porch screened in we have a cast iron chiminea for cool evenings, and probably electric blankets.

I want to use it in my 1 car garage /man cave so that when my smoking buddies come over, we can have the garage door open and still be warm enough inside. I see the tall ones on the classifieds. I had one of the dual burner ones that clamp to the top of the 20 gallon tank, but sold it last year that would have been perfect. How much does it cost to fill a 20 gallon tank?

I paid three bucks a gallon when I filled the Rv tanks. 20 gallons of propane would be a big bottle at least waist high. The ones I have are 9 gallon tanks made from aluminum and those are heavy enough. Most mom and pop places sell a filled new tank for around 70 dollars a much better deal than the tanks you see in cages Rhino?

I just started using those jars for my vehicle stash. They work well for storing tobacco I think.
