There are some interesting "man caves' shown but i have one question why do some of you "have" to smoke outside? I've been married 3 times and bought 3 homes which I paid for and are now owned by my ex's I smoked INSIDE in ALL of them. All my ex's understood that these were MY houses, till they got them in the divorces, and as such understood i would smoke my pipe in them. I just don't understand why you cannot smoke inside YOUR house !

Well, in my case, our home is just that... ours, not mine, not hers... ours....and while I certainly respect your opinion, some of us look at it differently. My wife is allergic to smoke, particularly tobacco smoke, so I honor her request that I not smoke in our home.

I smoke indoors but I've noticed that my brother in law and several cousins switched to smoking outside when they had kids.

For me its twofold. We rent, so not going to do that to my landlord. Because of the summer heat I considered getting a window fan and sitting by it in my bedroom, but my wife nixed that for the reasons mentioned above.
When / if we ever buy a house I fully intend to have a smoking lounge / den set up where I can smoke my pipe. I will put in the best ventilation I can afford to keep the home value up as much as possible.

All good reasons! Michael, you have it fortunate to be able to smoke inside your home, but there are plenty of reasons for not smoking inside including the stain and smell that goes with it, as mentioned above.

My father smoked his pipe in the house, car, restaurants, etc, since before I was born. I was used to it, but can't say I enjoyed growing up in a cloud of smoke. So when I took up the pipe late in life, I made the decision to only smoke in my shop and not the house or my vehicles.

My study is full of pipes and tobacco but my wife and I choose not to smoke in the house. I rarely smoke at home anyway. I have a long commute and have made that my pipe time each way. Along with audiobooks or music it's become a pleasant part of each day. After I figure out the picture process I'll post some pics of my man cave.

I just started using those jars for my vehicle stash. They work well for storing tobacco I think. They really do -- and easy to label if so inclined. Very affordable on amazon, I don't care for the bulkier food jars. Cheers.

My wife isn't my subordinate but my partner in life, and while she's never even asked me not to smoke inside, I know she'd rather I didn't and so I don't. Funny... I've also never been divorced even once and my wife is also my best friend. I'm sure our kids wouldn't love it either. If I wanted/expected to live a life where I was the supreme boss, I'd be doing that, in a cabin in the woods somewhere. But I'd much rather give up puffing the smoke of burning leaves through a tube than give up my family, if it came to that. ... Which it won't, because I actually ENJOY smoking a pipe outside anyway!

I tend to smoke wherever I am. Whether it be my couch - kitchen - car - porch - out in the woods. I have times where I can sit and enjoy my pipe and then the rest of the time life carries on only i am also smoking my pipe. Wife doesnt particularly enjoy it but I am considerate when she is home Ill step out. No man cave.
