Samuel Gawith 1792 in a Yorktown Canadian. That's one fine looking pipe, Charlie. I particularly like the tight birdseye on the bowl.

Good Sunday Morning! It's either 50° or 52° depending on the NOAA/NWS reporting station with a mostly cloudy sky and one of the workshop doors is wide open here at first light. I'm closed for the holiday, so phone calls or work orders will not be accepted. Starting the smoking day with a bowl of aged Wessex Brown VA Flake in the other Savinelli Venere 128 and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee tucked underneath my jacket. Time to read my book. Have a relaxing day, everybody!

59 degrees here, I have Captain Black Royal in a Custombuilt pot, coffee on the side. Rain in the forecast for the next three days, but I'm heading to Lowes, today, for my yearly supply of charcoal.

I hear ya, Herb. I've been driving around with an unopened bag of charcoal in the back of my car for well over a year now. We keep the charcoal in a big plastic storage tote on the deck and I have to see how much is in there. Maybe I'll finally get to take that bag out of the car.

Good Morning Again! It's 63° with a mix of clouds and bright sunshine out here on the deck. This would be a quiet and peaceful time on a Sunday, however some guys close by behind a neighbor's house think otherwise. For the last hour they've been trimming a tree with a chainsaw. Nice...thanks, guys. Anyway, I'm smoking a bowl of Limerick VA Flake in the Stanwell Nordic, a pipe that I very rarely smoke and for absolutely no good reason. My second mugga coffee is on the side and my book is ready for more reading.

At least your Neighbor is doing upkeep...the house across from me has become a rental, this year, and the renters will not cut the grass more than once a month I'd love to hear a lawn mower fire up over there!

In the past, here Lowe’s had fantastic prices on Kingsford during Memorial weekend, this year the prices do not seem much different than anywhere else. $17.88 for twin pack of 16# Actually, in the past it was on the 4th of July, $5 for 16# thebriarpatchforum.com/thread/3841/cheap-charcoal-4thDoubt we will ever see them prices again.

Good Afternoon! It's 77°, a light breeze, with a mostly cloudy sky and occasional sunshine out here on the deck. The kitchen is cleaned up, clothes from the washer are now in the dryer, and the dry clothes are in a basket waiting to get sorted. Now for pipe and reading time. Currently smoking a bowl of HH Pure VA Flake in the Sav rusticated billiard and there's a glass of cold water on the side.

Welcome back, Zach! How many tomato plants this season? This year I've got a good handful of new varieties, as well as swapped some favorites back into the mix. Less tomatoes this year. Around 45-50 plants. Growing some tomatillos, ground cherries, potatoes, did about 150 radishes, onions, dill, and basil. I've still yet to make that tomato thread, I'll have to culminate a bunch of pictures of the different varieties and see about that.
I started this morning with 2021 Haunted Bookshop in a Let Freedom Ring 5th ave cob with dark orange swirl acrylic Forever Stem.
Now smoking 2015 C&D Virginia Flake in an old Dr. Grabow Viking with a well worn and beat, smooth apple bowl. Mowed the yard, trimmed bushes, got more stuff planted. I've yet to plant a few varieties of cucumbers and I may do that today yet. I put 8 tomato plants down at the neighbors again and had a rabbit completely eat the top of of 3 of them sometime yesterday. Fortunately our yard avoids this issue because it's all fenced. I'm not used to rabbits eating off the tops of the plants. Tends to be more of a deer problem. I'll devise a way to run some mesh around the tomato cages there today and luckily I've still got numerous candidates in Solo cups ready to pop those eaten plants out and replace.
