Good Morning and Welcome to June! It's 52° here with a clear sky and one of the workshop doors is open just a bit. This afternoon I have to take Janet to the local motor vehicle office so that she can finally get her driver's license renewed. Today will be a hot one again and we haven't had rain here in what? Two weeks? Beginning the smoking day with a bowl of Wessex Brown VA Flake in the Peterson Rosslare 106 and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the tobacco table. Have a good, safe one, everybody!

Happy June, everyone! Started the month with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Thursday cob and coffee on the back porch. Picking up some lumber and soil for a garden box today. I guess I'll be kinda busy today.

Got a new batch of my usual Sutliff Z92 (Vanilla Custard) the other day. The first bag is the wettest I have ever received. My normal MW drying routine hasn’t gone as well as it usually does, so I tried the oven. Worked much better, but am wondering if anyone else oven-dries their tobacco. If so, what temp and time do you use? So far I am using 190-200° and about half an hour. Anybody else?

Good Morning Again! It's a warm 65° with a clear sky and bright sunshine out here on the deck. The neighborhood is pretty quiet right now except the chirping birds and some distant noise from traffic. I finished up reading the third book in the five book series of "All Creatures Great and Small" by James Herriot and I'm about to start the fourth. Currently smoking a bowl of Wessex Brigade Campaign Dark Flake in the Pete smooth billiard and there's a second round of coffee in the travel mug. Gonna be another hot day and the a/c will get a workout. Sure do need some rain.

Good Afternoon! It's 88° with a clear sky and bright sunshine out here on the deck. Lily's cat box has been cleaned, the garbage bin is on the street, and that's it for me. Pipe and book time! I just lit a bowl of Peterson Flake in the Peterson Rosslare 106 and there's a bottle of ice water on the side.

This might not help, but you can dry a day or more's supply in a dinner plate...fill the plate with smoking mixture, and sit it on top of a lampshade of a lamp near an armchair...fill one of you big pipes with smokable tobacco, light the lamp, and kick back in the chair with your pipe...each time you need a relight, fluff the damp mixture, and check the moister level don't fall asleep, or your tobacco will end up dry as bones... it only work with about a days' worth of tobacco, unless you have a lot of lamps.

Chatham Manor in my Jess Chonowitsch blasted Billiard. I'm smoking Sutliff's Estate blend in a Boswell. The Sutliff folks say it's the same tobacco as Chatham's Manor, but I don't like it near as much. My Chonowitsch pipe fell down between the seats of my pick-up, last summer, and if I ever get time to dig it out, I'll try S.E.B. in it, and report back!

My Chonowitsch pipe fell down between the seats of my pick-up, last summer, and if I ever get time to dig it out, I'll try S.E.B. in it, and report back! It will be interesting to hear the results. TobaccoReviews.com does not have an entry for Sutliff Estate. I see the product listing on SP where it is described as "formerly Chatham Manor". I note that P&C is still selling Hearth & Home Chatham Manor but does not sell Sutliff Estate. Sutliff does the production of Chatham Manor for H&H. So, Estate could very well be the same thing. However, the flavorings described on the SP listing for Estate don’t match CM… Now get out there and rip the seats out of your truck… 🤪😉

I smoked a bowl of it yesterday in my Vauen Piccolo 9mm pipe. Yes it was wet but absolutely delicious. Blue Note is another one of my favourites.
