Miskatonic Mixture in a 5th Ave Let Freedom Ring cob with dark orange swirl Forever stem. Been mostly smoking some of this and some 2022 Folklore, and Haunted Bookshop recently when I have the time. Haven’t had very much smoking time lately, which means I need more me time.

You should pick up a cheap windcap. They fit any pipe and work great. My Zippo is toast, so I was using matches and butane to try and get it lit…. Sometimes it is just not ideal to smoke in such conditions, not worth the hassle, and I need good reasons to smoke my cigars, but you have a point. Under those conditions a cheaper pipe and a torch lighter are called for. Or, as you say, it's not worth it.

Still smoking the Lion and Lamb mixture in the Kristi Freehand I loaded this morning, before the wife and I had a blow-up, and I stormed out to the porch to stain the swing, and fume...seems it was my fault that a wound specialist wouldn't see me till tomorrow...all good now, back in love again!

I feel your pain Herbert, seems all women are wired the same. My wife has the same button, she waits till I’m out of the house then self presses that one button. I usually walk into the drama and get blindsided. I hope your wound heals completely!

Darin, we don't hear much about the D&R blends posted here. How do they smoke? Curious Having the third pipe of the Barnacle Scrappins in my Schoenleber Natural Canadian... Great smoking pipe I keep forgetting to light up... I've got a better picture but the hosting site is giving me the load rash so's I can't link it... A bottle of water on the side... D&R put out some quality blends. Two Timer is a nice, easy Burley that's toasted and has a nutty, bready, molasses flavor which is great with coffee. Thanks Darin for the review. I might have to give some of it a try.

When 3.1 came out we used it in 4X86 pc’s to control video conferencing systems. It was back in the day when computers changes happened faster and faster. Computing power doubled every 6 months. Back then it was all about the speed then windows became the behemoth we know today. That’s why I use a MacBook In 1997, I went to work for a payroll company that has about 3500 clients. Our software server was running Netware and the processing PC was running DOS. We started moving towards a Windows based software as it looked like the software company was being bought by a competitor. After a ton of issues, we ended up with a much bigger server and 6 Workstations, (real pro machines) to do the same work. When I retired we had 62 virtual servers on 12 machines in 3 locations. Everything actually ran in the data centers. VMware is a lifesaver when running Windows. The video conferencing would have probably worked much better on the Macs too. Oh yeah, I downloaded Windows Ver.1 over a dialup modem, if you can imagine that. Ron, I know dial in modems. ... We transferred control system corrections via 14.4 baud dial up. One of the engineers and I cobbled a connection to the phone bank so we could get a dial tone. Then after I remotely downloaded the file and then I would have to convert it to machine language and burn it to an eprom and install it. Oh the fun we had!

Out and about this evening, accompanied by a self-made, rusticated billiard and a pouch of Friar's Bayou. Now, I'm test driving a new home blend (from the bulks that arrived today), in the Tuesday cob.

Glad to hear that everything is back to normal, Herb. I get the the same treatment occasionally myself. "Why didn't you..." "You were supposed to..." "If only you would..." "You never..." And blah blah. Best just go smoke your pipe. lol

Good Morning! It's 59° with a cloudy sky here at dawn and one of the workshop doors is wide open. More physical therapy this afternoon and we may do stair exercises along with the others that I now do routinely in order to help with any stiffness. The first pipe of the day is C&D Bayou Morning Flake in the BBB Two Star Special and there's a fresh travel mugga coffee on the tobacco table. Have a good, safe one, everybody!

Started the day with a couple bowls of Haunted Bookshop in the Wednesday cob and coffee on the front porch. The sky is hazy and the smell of wood smoke is in the air. I've moved to the back deck and am smoking Briar Fox in the same pipe now. After a few days of rain, it's time to do some work outside.

Good Almost Evening! It's 73°, cloudy, and still with a smokey haze out here on the deck. I've had a bad taste in my mouth from this smoke a good part of the day and a bit of sinus irritation earlier. The physical therapy is staring to wind down and next week will be the end of it. The therapist is satisfied with my progress, but the key now is to slowly continue with the recovery process. Currently smoking another bowl of HH Pure VA Flake and there's a plastic mugga water on the side. Have a good night, all!

Right after posting earlier, I had to come back inside the house. The air quality was really bothering me and I had these green micro flying insects giving me grief. Tomorrow morning in the workshop should be better.
