So far I have received 517 political texts asking for money. I STOP every one and block them and report as spam. Every day I get several more. The ones I really hate are the ones that come on while I'm driving. No way to turn off notifications in my truck and it will override the radio. No way to adjust the notification volume so we're scared out of our skins every time we get a text. Only thing I can do is turn off Bluetooth on the phone but I forget. Sigh. Only 25 days left of this hell.

Archery hunters on the place. Yesterday the 10YO took his first deer, a nice doe. And the 13YO (who took his first deer here when he was 8) took a nice 8PT. At his stand he saw 11 doe and 12 bucks. We do have deer. He has one more tag. I don’t hunt archery. Rifle season starts in November. I have 6 tags, but usually only take 2. Food, not trophies.

I had a great day trying to remember my Outlook mail password after a micronuts update. You see I like using a four digit pin and only have enough brain cells to store complicated passwords with some capital letter and a special character at least nine characters long. They claim it is for my safety when all my internet providers are spying on me. Modern problems in the free world but I digress. Peace, love and joy to all.

Lizardo, I use passwords from books I am reading. Easy to remember. Just a suggestion.

The new Windows is supposed to have some new security system using Passkeys, whatever that is.

Beautiful day yesterday and today. Been having California weather, no measurable rain in over 3 months. Got the yard manicured and cleaned up under the carport. Tomorrow I will order the lumber for the back porch.

Highlight of the weekend was the Cowboys getting destroyed. Lowlight was the TEXAS-OU game. The cream on top was the amazing Spacex rocket catch.

From the garden today: parsley, thyme and oregano for soup, a handful of beans, a bunch of kale, habanero, banana and Hungarian peppers. Things are rapidly winding down, but not done yet. The lettuce, arugula and radish seedlings are growing!

Absolutely gorgeous day again today. Unfortunately, no rain forecast for at least 2 more weeks. County has to enact a burn ban tomorrow. All the surrounding counties have had fires so we are the only one without a ban.

Had to go to Longview this morning for an early appointment with the gastro. Beautiful morning, 50 degrees and clear skies. Driving over the lake I saw the water as smooth as glass with several inches of fog on top. I couldn't help but wonder if I still owned a wetsuit and where I stashed my 1969 Connelly Hook water ski. Then I remembered that trying to get up on a slalom would probably be the last mistake I ever made. Rest of the trip was very nice.

Been a few days since we heard from Bob, hasn't it? Maybe I missed a post.
There's a noticeable chill in the air around here, tonight. Fall has certainly arrived.

Meanwhile in the valley of the sun, Mean Mister Heat Miser has kept digging in setting records…. We are suppose to get relief in the next few days. Cool nights and (sometimes) warm days. Deer hunters still here. 13YO working on his second tag. Seeing lots but they are keeping their distance. (Thanks for thinking of me Mr Bear.) Meanwhile, his dad is keeping me in breakfast waffles. So good are they that I ordered a Belgian waffle maker. (I hope his visa is OK.)😜

Rain forecast starting tonight through Sunday. Turning to snow on Sunday. Winter is almost here.
Time to bring in firewood and shovel the ash out of the wood stove.

Red flag warnings but another gorgeous day. Crew is working on the roof. 45 this morning when we took the dog in for her shots. Stopped at the new Atlanta Starbucks and had a grande caramel macchiato with an extra shot. There went my calories for the day.

Chilly here, 57, North wind busting down, no Seeger for Tbrad, wife’s Avalon windshield had a mysterious half moon crack above the rear view mirror, hard to get an OEM Wibdshield, local glass shop is run by my Mechanics son, said it might take a couple weeks. Called USAA and filed a claim, agent was nice, but I cut her short, I’ll pay for it all, you pay me what the insurance covers, found out that lane departure and stop thing needs to be recalibrated when you change the windshield, another 200$, they got you don’t they.

] played with a ten year old Olympus PEN camara today, yes it still works. Wife is going to take it to Boston to snap pictures of baby Scarlet while I starve to death. 60 degrees in the swamp going to break out good flannel for the six days of winter.

Very nice (except the starving part). The PEN is still a much loved camera. If you decide at some point to sell it, you'll get a pretty penny.
