Really, I would like to see either team win. They both battled their way through the season.

Fernando Valenzuela dead at age 63. He was fantastic to watch, even though he always pitched for the competition. RIP. Never really watched MLB, not my bag but even I knew who “The Bean” was. Earlier this week he came to mind and I wondered how he was doing in life, no thought of being ill, just wondered. Earlier today I heard of his demise as the news said that there would be a tribute… bummed I missed it. I cannot stand the town of LA, cannot stand the city of NY. May the best team win though!

I liked Tommy LaSorda though… he had a quote something to effect “ I never get tired of eating, it is just my jaws give out”.😂
When I worked for the meat company in the 80’s, I had a delivery for a case of meat to LaSorda, a prime rib, New York steak, filet Mignon, full cuts about 50# Certified Angus Beef
His house manager met me in LA and took it from the truck.
A salesman for the company I worked for was a buddy of LaSorda that had a bet and lost, but I took it as a willing loss.
LaSorda’s restaurant I had read had a lot of health code violations, and ended up shutting down… should have had it located in SF, the inspectors looked the other way if you were willing to pay.

I liked the old Yankees, Mickey, Roger, Yogi, those guys. My mom loved them and I couldn't help but like and admire them.

I watched them all the time, sitting next to my mom shelling peas and such. She would get excited and bounce in her chair and the peas would fly when Mickey hit a home run. He did that a lot it seemed.

I used to deliver to the SF Zoo, it was always an early morning delivery before the park was open to the public. They allowed Joe Dimaggio to walk through on his early morning walks before they opened. Saw him several times, but never approached him...guess he lived nearby.

They have a great history. So many Championships and Hall-of-Famers. Still hate them. As much as I hate liver.

I think the George Steinbrenner years turned a lot of people against the team.

I think the George Steinbrenner years turned a lot of people against the team. I think their domination of the game had something to do with that, too. Steinbrenner wasn't on many people's Christmas card lists, for sure. Starting with Billy Martin.

Yeah, I am anti-dynasty...in football, I would like to see the Detroit lions or Cleveland Browns kick some butt. I was a devout 49'ers fan during the Montana, Young, Bono era, but as I have moved on I want to see new blood.

Dozed off, wife woke me up as Freeman was rounding the bases, then a replay, I knew it was over for the Yanks. Really good game!

Game was back and forth the whole way. The two starters dueled to a near standstill. Both teams manufactured runs. A fan got kicked out. Stanton hit one that bounced off the moon. And then Freeman in the 10th with the bases juiced. Joe Davis calls it a la Vin Scully in 1988. Good lord.

This LA pitcher Yamamoto is phenomenal! He is ok… he ain’t no trailboss! Good thing he isn’t! After two shoulder surgeries, a 95 mph pitch, my arm would be attached to the ball.. a bloody mess.

This LA pitcher Yamamoto is phenomenal! You should've seen him pitch against them in Yankee Stadium back during the regular season. They never stood a chance in that one.
He's a guy we're still kinda figuring out. One start he'll look like this. The next, he can get hammered.
But, thanks to him and some early runs, this game was a lot less stressful. Till the 9th, anyway.
