El Gose. Gose is a German style made with salt. Traditionally with sea water. A little sour and a little salty. This one is made with sea salt and lime.

One of my favorite and affordable ones. Good taste! That is how a fifth would look in Ryan Alden's hand.

Maduro Robusto 2014 from Paradox Brewing Company. Slightly smokey, a little malty, and tart and funky.

I'm having a wee dram of Famous Grouse. I'd prefer Glenlivet, but Grouse is very good for a blended whisky. On a side note, has anyone seen the film Whisky Galore, either the 60s version or the recent remake? Both are very good. In the original version, upon hearing that an elderly patient has broken his pipe, the local doctor gives him his own, stating that a man can't be expected to give up both whisky and tobacco. Ahh, the good old days. I think I was born several decades to late.

Ahh, the good old days. I think I was born several decades to late. Those are my two favorite Scotch labels. I see that FG now offers a 12 year old which I have yet to try. I started out with the Glenlivet after watching the movie, "The Man Who Would be King" when first released and stuck with it for many years. Seen the movie "Whisky Galore" (original) and read the book. There is a copy in my library. While living in England, years ago, I noticed that The Famous Grouse is considered a respectable whisky. In my old community- Hampstead Garden Suburb, our local shop kept Johnnie Walker on hand mostly for "half baked Americans" or so it was explained to me. I got a good laugh at that comment.

Soon it will be Beefeater with Key Lime juice and simple syrup. The Gimlet, shaken and poured into a stemmed glass.
Always important to have something to look forward to.
