This evening it is a Martini Norman or a "Crecy" for short.
2 ounces of good English Gin,
1/4 ounce of Norman Calvados,
2-3 olives in honor of the Genoaese Crossbowmen who did their best but ain't going to stop the Black Prince of Wales.
When history meets cocktails, anything can happen!

High roller tonight. Pulled the cork on a bottle of Lagavulin 16 one of my best friends gifted me on my birthday a few years back.
Figures I'm smoking Holiday Match in a cob. Haha I should fill the Peterson with an English and make a Propper go of it.

Tonight I'm drinking Famous Grouse, a very good blended scotch that doesn't break the bank either.

Brought home a bottle of "Neighbor's Vodka" distilled from grain produced in eight Midwestern states. Now, I am not a Vodka fan. So, tonight's Vodka Martini will be made with a dash of Grand Marnier and a lemon twist. Wish I had Green Chartreuse on hand.

Rhubarb vodka. Just as disgusting as it sounds.

Heading over to the cabinet. Looks like it will be a "Crecy" Martini- English Gin with a splash of Norman Calvados. Shaken, of course.

I don't know why it is. I do enjoy a drink now and then. And my current favorite is bourbon. I am partial to Knob Creek and to Bulleit. When I was into Scotch it was Laphroaig and Taliskers.
But I have never been able to both drink and smoke at the same time. I don't know why. My favorite drinks taste terrible when smoking and the last thing I want when smoking is alcohol.
I have tried.
So if I am smoking, my favorite drink is room temperature coffee. More precisely, hot coffee that I have neglected because I am pipe smoking.
And if I am drinking, I just don't smoke.

Plymouth Gin. Navy Strength - 114 proof. Neat. Next glass, a few drops of bitters for a Pinkie.

Famous Grouse and water (separate glasses). Famous Grouse is a fantastic "hamburger" scotch. What I mean is that it is exactly what I crave while making burgers on the Weber BBQ. (I used to drink beer, but I can't any more. I have no restrictions on whisky however.)

Stopped off on my way home for a swift Fosters Lager Hope it was from the big can. When I worked in NYC I would stagger through the summer heat to Second Avenue and 53rd Street and "Eamon Doran's Pub". There, the Foster's Lager was kept at some miraculously low temperature. A couple of restorative pints would see me on the way home. I threw a party once, and served Fosters in the big can. I had one of those motor oil can spouts for opening the beer. It was great fun.

Never tried their ale. I enjoy their lager well enough. It's another 'ot place here!
