For the price I was totally blown away with the quality craftsmanship. Those are carbon fiber handle scales👍👍. Lube up the axis lock and the washers around the pivot area, it’s lightning fast. Now waiting for Brad too also chime in.....HEY “ oldcajun “......” whatyathink “ so far??? The one I got was carbon fiber textured plastic. The only reason for carbon fiber scales is if you are doing away with the metal liners for weight saving. I have seen 1 knife that was actually carbon fiber (except for the blade), and it was VERY expensive. More than it was worth. I looked at the handle scales with a magnifying glass....from the first batch I received is definitely carbon fiber.....wonder if batch #2 was changed. You can email Ganzo, they will tell you for sure about the second batch.

I open carry even in the airport picking up friends and family... totally legal up to the TSA checkpoint. Granted, I dress nice, leather rig not an Uncle Mike’s crappy nylon holster while wearing baggy pants. Totally acceptable in the Southwest, but it would lead to fecal encrusted pants in slave states.

I’d email the seller from Amazon and Ganzo direct.

I concur Sounds like something the Chinese manufacturers would do! They’ve been known prior to pull stunts like this. When I hold mine on an angle I can see the difference between carbon fiber and G10. Most othe Ganzo Knives use G10 handle scales.....I now have 11 Ganzo knives and 8 are definitely G10 as advertised.

Stylish? No.
Practical, comfortable and easily accessible? Yes.
I've had the same Uncle Mike's holster for years now. What I like is the ability to holster inside the pants or in the front pocket of loose jeans. My revolver slides out EVERY time without a hitch and slides back in just as easily. Also, I almost never open carry ... concealed 95% of the time.

I looked at the listing again and carbon fiber is listed as a "color". The only material listed is G-10. I really like the knife.

Ahhh, when I purchased mine it stated carbon fiber scales...not color. I took the knife with me back to my son’s where my tools are in my room. I removed a handle scale, even on the opposite side I was able to see that the scales that were used on the original batch are carbon fiber. Wether it’s carbon fiber or G10 the knife is worth twice the price. The sellers need to completely remove “ carbon fiber “ from the description. I find it deceptive if not stated G10 handle scales. I will be emailing Ganzo Knife & Tools within the next few hours and will explain to David how sellers are still using carbon fiber in their description!!!

I know the numbers are high as far as deception, but not 99%. I own a Ken Onion Kershaw Knife USA made that was advertised carbon fiber handle scales. I looked at the sides of the handle scales and noticed no cross mesh, I knew it was G10. I sent off an email to Kershaw USA and a phone call two days later. Over the phone ( not in writing of course ) I was told it was an oversight. I was offered a Ken Onion design knife with blue anodized Titanium handle scales, Stainless Steel Liners, shipped free of charge. How many others that purchased the knife was able to see the handle material was definitely no carbon fiber!!

Is it ethical, moral, just deceptive, yes! but it is also effective and they did state "carbon fiber coloring" in the description so what they are doing is legal. This comes down to buyer beware and not reading and fully understanding what they were buying. I would suggest that everyone read the entire description and email the seller if they don't understand some thing or have any questions. shady perhaps but most advertisements and descriptions are. that being said its one hell of a good deal!

Shady indeed, I always read a description fully, sometimes twice to make sure I didn’t miss anything. The original batch did not state “ carbon fiber coloring “! Below is a screen shot I took the day I ordered my Ganzo cleaver knife. Also take notice of the initials CF in the model number. I just checked on Amazon, the new release states G10 handle scales properly in the description.

Jack ^^^^^^^ it sure is......I agree with what you stated....make sure you read the description well. That’s what made me go back and look how the knives are sold now on Amazon. Must have been a number of complaints. WOW....the description clearly now states G10 handle scales. I’m wondering was it the fault of Ganzo ( probably not ) or some sellers being deceptive....I’ll go with the latter!!

We worry some about home invasion, but we are in a small neighborhood with one entrance at the end of a dead end road. No through traffic and strangers are noted. I don't carry in the house, but I am never more than 10 ft from a firearm. In my truck the 44 is always on the seat by my leg. I finally found a thin enough pocket holster for my Tomcat that it doesn't bulge too much. My wife confiscated my LCP. Home invasion robbery has not been a problem in my remote area. I live about 400 yards off a two-lane highway on a side road. My place is the first one drivers see after many miles of sagebrush. I have no close neighbors, maybe 3/4 of a mile across the fields? I used to get people at my door late at night (2300, 0300). Now, I greet them with a Coach Gun and open only the top half of a Dutch Door. Mostly they are sad, lost, broke down, urbanites who have no business out here as they are just plainly too stupid. Lately, I close the front gate at night to deter visitors. Woe unto him who ventures within. Folks living here have enough sense not to call after dark.

Lets say they sell 5000 units before they get caught then someone complains and they change it to be correct. the 4999 before they were caught don't care and the 5000 guy feels vindicated while the seller don't give a crap because he sold 5000 units.I would watch this seller to see if the description don't change back in a few days?

Jack ^^^^^^^good point...I will be watching two particular knife sellers I know for a fact that pull scams until caught. I don’t believe David from Ganzo Knife & Tool would want their reputation tainted.
Also, if a knife you have your eyes on ever is offered by “ Ace Knives “ I “ garontee “ there will be no scamming!!

As I have said before, Ganzo makes great knives, but the descriptions suffer from the translation from Chinese. It was probably an honest mistake. I paid $21.95 for the knife, and I would make it a good value at $15 more.

When you see a guy wearing a nylon holster in an open carry situation and the nylon has the gun flopping outward, it appears to be more accessible to another person than the carrier... I am talking about where the nylon has passed the expiration date. IWB, nylon has it’s place.

I've seen what your describing ... ugh.
It's definitely not made for OWB.

I've seen what your describing ... ugh. It's definitely not made for OWB. I use mine for padding the guns in drawers and other vulnerable places. My in waist band for the 44 is a nice thin high quality suede. My open carries are all Kydex, except for the Ruger 44 special single action. It is an El Paso floral tooled leather that I never get a chance to wear. I guess with the faux ivory grips it would be less scary to babies than the nasty all black guns. I think I will shop for a nice professional looking black leather holster for the 44 snubbie.

The first and second release of the model in question were made with carbon fiber handles, the third release are all made from G10. Still a great knife and the quality has not changed. The knife preforms better then a few of my knives that cost close to $100.00. If needed I’d purchase another with G10 handle scales for cure 👍

Just did a field strip and cleaning of my Ruger Commander 1911. I “ only “ use Rand CLP on all of my pistols and rifles, it’s oil penetrates metal/steel for a smooth slide on my semi-automatics. Going to the range early afternoon tomorrow. This is my cold weather carry pistol. Over 2,000 rounds fired with no hang-ups or jamming!! One of my favorite 1911’s for sure👍👍👍
