Anyone in the path of Hurricane Michael needs to think about bookin' it NOW. They are forecasting this to be a cat 3 or 4 at landfall. My wife and I are gettin' out of town tomorrow morning and heading north with our baby girl (doggie). I've got tobacco packed and a couple of pipes and my tablet to stay in touch with the Patch. Prayers would be greatly appreciated. If this monster makes landfall close to us...I'll be coming back to sticks unless the Lord takes care of our property.
Be well and I'll let you know what is happening in our area as soon as I know.

Everyone in the path of Michael be safe and get prepared today!! Dry goods, water, batteries and a battery operated radio if possible 👍👍
Fill your bathtubs with water for flushing toilets, you never know. This storm MAY be a category 4 when it hits land. Get to high grounds so you don’t put your life, your families life and rescuers in harms way.

Safe travels my friend and I hope you return to your home the way you left it. I'm keeping my eyes on this one and might pack up tonight and leave in the morning. We're 75ish miles inland but are in the path of it. Even if it goes more west, it puts us on the east side.  If I do leave here it will be me, the cat, the dog and the bird. None of my furred (or feathered) family will get left behind. My children are more safe at their mom's place. They have an evacuation plan as well. I'd rather come back and have nothing but my life, my children and my pets than take a chance. |

If the storm comes the way they are predicting, I'll be homeless. Insurance co. said they wouldn't insure a place that old...so I am SOL. Long as the family is safe, that is all I care about. The rest will have to be taken care of by the Lord.

Prayers for you and your family Walt. Living in Florida since 1975, I certainly know what you are going through. We just went through it last year with Irma. Thank God we had no damage to home or property.

Anyone in or near its path, take it very seriously. Evacuate if you can. No wooden sructure can resist a direct impact from a Cat 3 or 4. And it seems to be a wet one too boot. I've been through several hurricanes in the past fifty years, including Andrew, Katrina, Wilma and Myrna (sp?) last year. Full car tank, provisions, water, etc. are a must.
