My biggest issues were coffee and lack of sleep. In the last 3 nights I slept MAYBE 5 hours.
Record high today of 91 so hopefully with the AC I'll get a good nights rest.
Now that power is back on I can unpack my cellar.

They just got our power back on. Somewhere around 6 days without it. I'm very thankful that electricity and some food are the only things that I lost. True that. But 6 days is a long time. The most I've suffered is a couple of hours around 12 years ago. are your power lines buried, or up on poles like 99% of the US?

Mine are on poles. Some in town are underground. We cant even get high speed internet let alone underground wiring.

I love it. I decided to come out and enjoy this pipe. The ONLY thing I hear is crickets chirping. I'll take my peace over convenience any day.

Heading to the house!!! Left the beautiful hills of Kentucky this morning...damn near slid down the hill (35 degree slope)...got on the four lane and headed for home...stopped in Commerce, Ga. should be home by the afternoon...loaded up on cases of water for the neighbors...couple of 5 gallon gas cans for generators so I can run the generator to keep neighbors refrigerators going. Lucky us we have power and water. Others not that lucky. Sorry I wasn't able to stop by my good friend AJ's place, but I need to get home and survey any damage to the property...I know I lost at least one tree...so much fortunate than many others. Big thanks to those who opened their homes and hearts to us to stay with them. Patch people are absolutely the best!!! Had bears on our porch up in the mountains of Kentucky...beautiful creatures just looking for food. Guess I'm lucky that I don't live there...I'd probably be feeding them.

Home at last, Home at last...Thank you Lord for leaving me a home to come back to. Pulled in the drive to the house...had to move branches and some debris to get in the gate to my home. Tree limbs everywhere and a split Oak (?) that left a "limb" that is about 2 ft. in diameter across my driveway. Neighbor friend had a tree man come and cut the limb in several sections just to be3 able to roll them out of the way. Would take a crane to move the whole limb if we needed to move it. Yard is covered with broken branches and debris from the storm...gonna take a couple of weeks to get it back looking normal again. Exhausted from driving for about 8 hours...gonna load up the pipe and sit on the porch and have a smoke. I see I have a small package to open, and I will in the morning because I can barely hold my arms up I'm so tired. Saw the latest death count in the panhandle of which we are part...terrible situation for many folks. Back tomorrow and thanks for the tremendous support during this crisis.

Late to the party here, but I'm so happy that you're home and your house is ok. The yard work can wait. I wish I was closer and could help the clear-up.
