My wake up, or did I even sleep?, schedule was bed at 12, up at 1215, 120, 2, 245, 330 and then 445. It wasnt even ankle biter induced, I just couldnt sleep.
Lots of coffee and snuff to barely keep me going at work today.

I was up several times last night and finally gave up around 4:30am and made coffee. I have been getting more sleep lately but for all the wrong reasons.

I woke up at 420 this morning and couldn't go to sleep so I listened to an audio book and finally dozed off around 6,then slept until 9:30. Good thing I didn't have to be anywhere or do anything.

Was up at 4:00 for some reason. I don't fight it anymore, just get going and make some coffee and start the day.

Got up several times last night as my leg was bothering me. Then my wife got up at 5 making being a bull in a china shop and turning on every light we own.

I have never had an issue with insomnia before a few weeks back... A few weeks back I started waking up precisely at 3AM, (I have never had problems going right back to sleep in the middle of the night). The wife has been waking up at the same time.... last night it was 1:30, and until 4 I just tried to blank all thoughts (same with the wife), I think I just drifted in and out, no REM sleep. I can understand if there is something waking us up that we cannot detect, I just do not understand not being able to get back to sleep. I have a 3 day run into New Mexico and west Texas... not a good way to start the trip.
If the situation doesn’t correct itself soon, I may just find something else to do for a living.

Was up at 6:45AM this morning...got a cup of coffee and took my meds...stepped out on the porch to 43° weather, decided to go back to bed with the wife and small "baby" who were both snoring soundly..pulled a blanket up to my neck and back to sleep til now.

Finally got some good sleep. I haven't slept more than 4 hours since the time change but slept 7 hours today. I feel so much better today.

Here we frigging go again. This time I'm just too pi$$ed off to go to sleep. Extremely disappointed with the way my life is going. Wish I could contract a serious case of amnesia so that I could forget every mistake of my life that keeps me from going to sleep most nights.

MD started me on Gabapentin at bedtime.
Awoke at my usual time, 11:40 PM.
Another med which does nothing.
Re-loaded the wood stove. Had a pee. Opened a can of seltzer. Let the early cat shift out and brought the late shift in.

Gabapentin is a horrible drug often used to treat pain and it sucks. I darn sure wont take it and neither should anyone else. It has been labeled as the most dangerous drug In America.

Yep wide awake, might as well make coffee. I was on a pretty good run sleeping all night. So much for that.

I have zero side effects from it. Took it regularly when my body was destroying my nerves. doctors seem to prescribe it like candy.

Slept two hours last night and even I could figure out how to make coffee using only my feet with a new Cuisinart. I am a Krups man myself and keep several back up espresso makers on hand.

I figured out that my problem was with the knucklehead that I am working with. If we have a three day run, he thinks it needs to be done at in 2, on another three day run it turns into a four day run from hell....and if we are dispatched to New Mexico a week and a half before Christmas he freaks out that we need to be home before Christmas and the thought of Icy roads freaks him out. Unorganized guy that breeds complexity out of simplicity. I do not have insomnia but an aversion to knuckleheaderry...one week left, then off to the HQ for finishing school looking forward to going on my own.
