This thread won't stand the test of time, but I'm always intrigued as to what people use as their avatar.
Currently my avatar is a picture of two MM Legend pipes that I rusticated and painted black. One was mine that I had produced a year or so before the other. The picture was to show the difference in stem colouration over time.
I use it as my avatar because I love the MM Legend. I do prefer the Country Gentleman for bowl size, but this was my first cob so it means something to me.
So what's your avatar all about? I know some have changed theirs for Christmas, others change theirs frequently - but what's the deal with your current avatar? I'd like to know.

Mine is a picture of a dog smoking a pipe. No plans to change. No story.

good job on those pipes. Look great. Several times I've posted probably the only online pic of me available & mentioned any of the mods welcome to transfer same to the "avatar" box. Won't do it again unless somebody requests same. Do enjoy what other folks able to do with their fingers on keyboards!

Just always liked the colorful smoke. Would love to find a blend that actually produced that.

My first plug/twist knife a hank of some twist and a cutting board with the first pipe aside from a cob that made me go oooooohhh ok thats a good smoker. That pipe reminds me that under 50 bucks gets a damn fine smoker.

Mine is Che fiddling with his camera. No reason, really, except that I think enormous old medium format cameras are cool.

I believe my grand mother was Native American though there are no records to prove it.My Avatar is a replica of a Cherokee ceremonial pipe.It hangs on a wall in my smoking room.It reminds me of the cherished memories I have of her.

I switched from my standard avater of me popping smoke in paintball to the little cowbell archy found in India. She was a very generous piper, working three jobs and still on food stamps, and would still send me pipes and tobacco. She killed herself two years ago, so the bell is to remember her. It hangs over my computer.

My sister used to run a B&B and beside the front door she had a 5ft figure of the Golfer. He was sold to a lady for her husbands "Man Cave".I wish I could have gotten him,I had many conversations with him while sitting on her porch smoking pipes, cigars, and yes cigarettes.

Mine is me doing my favorite activity implied by my screen name. It reminds me of what I'd always rather be doing when I can't do so.

My avatar is a promotional avatar for the old BBC Inspector Maigret series (the one with Michael Gambon). I liked this nod to author George Simenon's fellow Belgian René Magritte, so I borrowed it. So the meaning is not hidden, but the face is.

Our two dogs, Deacon and Parson. They are a schnauzer, poodle, yorkie mix. The woman who sold them assured us they were “schnorkies”, I suggested they were mutts; seemed to insult her. They are brothers from consecutive litters. Coming up on five years old.
