Cold and snow on the ground here too. Not coming down any more though. Shoveling to do in the AM. I will enjoy a cob full of SWRA or maybe ERR match while moving the frozen water.

Getting ready for the storm to hit here. We're supposed to get around a foot of snow by tomorrow morning and I think I'm ready. The snow blower is ready a couple bags of salt plenty of gas and have the generator ready to go in case there is an outage. Most important, have plenty of tobacco and a warm place to smoke.

We're a little colder up here than Charlie, being at 3500 ft. elevation, but last night was pretty nice.

We're at about 3000 ft here in Green Valley AZ and it's finally starting to warm up here after a three week chill. I'm built for and can tolerate polar conditions but I love AZ in the winter.

Got an inch or so of blowing snow night before last. Warmed up to around 35 today and will warm to the low 50’s the next couple of days. So far a winter of ups and downs.

I really feel for those in areas that get lots of snow and temps often below 0 degrees. Snow and temps below 5 degrees is somewhat rare where I live.We usually don’t get more than 6” of snow per year and I don think I’ve seen the temperature below zero more than once, in my lifetime, in the part of N.C. that I live in. Raleigh east to the coast of a N.C. is fortunate in that regard.

I assume it ain't something in the water up there

But it's almost never cold enough to stick ("humid subtropical" climate, and all.) It just snows and you have two inches of nasty slush on the ground to slip in.
It is never, ever picturesque
Tonight's storm is a bunch of rain, slush, and nasty.

It's a balmy 13 deg. with a -3 wind chill here. I last cleaned the drive at 10:00 last night and can't tell I did anything. Going to be a fun morning.

31 in the swamp at least the wind died down. If this severe winter keeps up I might have to wear pants over my jogging shorts and a long sleeved tshirt.
