It's cold here and snowing hard. I sure am glad I can smoke my pipes in the house! Freakin freezing here too. I got the plow guy on his way to dig us out. I did the sidewalk but the temps are plummeting.

Well it stopped raining and sleeting and we should go down to +25 or better overnight. I better clean my AC filters probably need em by next week and that is not a joke. Such is life living in the swamp called Houston we will be 75 with humidity higher than a EpiPen any minute now. Can you guys post some pictures in your Elmer Fudd hats I enjoy those.

We got to about 36 F a couple of days ago with a skiff of snow. And even at that, some things came to a standstill. Our girls' church meeting was cancelled because of the snow. We don't do 'extremes' well in this country.
Today, we're back up to our average of about 46 F, going up to about 52 F by the end of the week.

It was 45 with rain all day yesterday and melted off a good part of the 12+inches of snow we got over the weekend. It's 30 now with snow and is going to drop into the teens by tonight. It's going to be an icy mess here.

Lake Michigan might be helping me a bit today. Anything south like you Beardedmi and lawitzke will be frigid and dangerous. Stay in today and stay warm.

2 degrees with wind chill at -19. Kids off school and I am working from home. Going to be a loooooong day (maybe 2).
Sure wish I had a place to smoke inside. Would love to have a pipe sitting by the fire (shoot, would love to be sitting in the storage closet in the basement at least).

74 degrees here today for the high..a low of 51...hard to imagine that some places are almost 100 degrees colder with windchill than our low temp.

I really feel for those in areas that get lots of snow and temps often below 0 degrees. Snow and temps below 5 degrees is somewhat rare where I live.We usually don’t get more than 6” of snow per year and I don think I’ve seen the temperature below zero more than once, in my lifetime, in the part of N.C. that I live in. Raleigh east to the coast of a N.C. is fortunate in that regard. AJ I live in NYC, where we get 3-4 feet of snow per year, on the regular. But it's almost never cold enough to stick ("humid subtropical" climate, and all.) It just snows and you have two inches of nasty slush on the ground to slip in.
It is never, ever picturesque
Tonight's storm is a bunch of rain, slush, and nasty.
May also have something to do with all the subway tunnels under NYC. I lived on Governors Island for 3 years (now that was cold in the winter) and the subways were also warm during the winter.

32° here in central north Florida...sunny and bright...s'possed to get lower tomorrow morning...squirrels wearing longjohns and socks out in the yard. Got to get the electric blanket out for the porch today if I plan on doing any smoking...and I always plan on smoking...what else I got to do?

Went out and got both trucks running and warming up. Might have to go out and charge up a cooler later and grabbed a can of 134a and a manifold set to put in the garage to warm up. When I grabbed the manifold set it is so cold one of the hoses snapped in half. Good thing I have plenty of spares.
