Got hit hard by freezing rain last night. No power and it’s cold. After last weeks cold fiasco and now this!
Didn't have power for 1.5 weeks after Irma in Sep 2017... with daytime temps around 92-93 degrees...

Man, I can't imagine. With the cold you can always put more layers on. In the heat, you can't take your skin off. I'm glad you made it through. As will I. Weather sure can be interesting.

16 and steady snow in the suburbs of Denver. My day so far - Jury duty, malfunctioning furnace and snowstorm. We are supposed to go out for my youngest girl's 21st birthday. We will see.....

77 with a light breeze. I ventured out in this horrid weather for a bowl of G.L. Pease Stratford in an Edwards billard.

Minus 28 degrees Fahrenheit tonight. That's -33 Celsius.
Thankfully not much wind, but it's still 42 below with the windchill.

not a horrible 28, overcast in greater Buffalo, NY area. Main concern...ice just about everywhere walkable. "Gotta walk like a penguin" format. Both porches/steps well done with ice melt. Should be in mid 40s later at least. Roads well salted.

Hit 79 here in NC, that I can do without. I much prefer cooler weather. In about five days I’ll get my wish, it will be back in the 20’s.....it’s crazy weather down “ heir “ this year!

Man, I can't imagine. With the cold you can always put more layers on. In the heat, you can't take your skin off. I'm glad you made it through. As will I. Weather sure can be interesting. The answer for that is what I did...had a small generator that I plugged into an electrical box (outside) with an identical electrical box on the inside. They are wired together so that I could run a #12 romex with outlets every 10" into a room that had a small A/C window unit in it. Sealed the room and had A/C 12 hrs of the day powered by the generator. The generator also powered the refrigerator, lamp, radio and computer (for internet). That way we had one room we could comfortably sleep in while running the generator 12 hrs during the day...you can run a fan as we did during the night. Kept the refrigerator running, have gas stove to cook on and a backup of 14 gallons of water to cook with. Nope no showers as the water heater pulled too much juice, but we were comfortable for 9 days straight until the power came back on. Always good to be prepared...reason for the electrical box outside is so that we didn't have to have a window open or a door. During emergencies you don't want an open door or window to allow roaming looters access to your home.
