I agree...sounds like dinner and a drink all in one shot! It's amazing how rich the martini tastes after soaking up the meat and cheese flavors

I am a Martini drinker but never tried anything like that. I have used pickled garlic along with an olive. I keep it simple.

I would try a sip, but I would not attempt to build one for myself.

I went to an upscale bar and ordered A dirty martini, the bartender asked if I wanted some cheese and prosciutto, I "assumed" he meant on a plate. When the martini came I was rather shocked so I asked and he apologized thinking he mis -heard me. I happily explained that I had mis-heard him and I have been making them at home ever since.

I have at least 3 bottles in the cabinet. I have never even tried a martini. I like it with citrus juice or tonic or lemonade.

Not sure what the meat and cheese would taste like in gin?

Tanqueray is quite drinkable. Never a complaint about that. I often drink it neat. I enjoy Plymouth, Navy Strength, for mixed drinks.

With the coming of Spring, the longer and warmer days, it is time to place the Bourbon and Rye on the back of the shelf and open the Gin!
Enjoying a glass of Beefeater, neat, with a few drops of Fee Brothers Bitters. Just the thing.

The Islay Gin, I have to drive into Colorado or south to Pojoaque NM. I would love to find Jenever Gin from Holland. In the stoneware crock. I had that many years ago.

Was introduced to Hendricks gin in Vernon, British Columbia when working a contract there many years past. A friend made martinis with it and I was instantly enamored with the gin. I treat it as a specialty, only buying it once in a while, but it is a treat.

No gin is worth twice the price of Tanqueray. JMHO.

As the hour of 5:00 approaches, considering another Beefeater Martini with Campari Vermouth and a large pimento stuffed green olive. Yes, the clocks change tonight and with that, my drinking habits.

I have Tanqueray, Beefeaters and Gilbeys in the cabinet, but I haven't had any in the past 10 years. I probably need to do something about that this summer, but it gets too hot in Houston to drink.

Too hot to drink? I have never heard of such a condition. Adjust the Beveridge to the climate- Gin, Rum, Vodka, Tequila. Not all together, of course. On the other hand, maybe there is something to that combination?

Bombay Sapphire was my go to for years. Then I found Hendricks. Still keep a bottle of Bombay tho. Tanqueray just has never done it for me. Not sure why. The taste in a gimlet doesn’t work for me. Amsterdam isn’t bad and usually not to expensive. Good for gin and tonic. Costco Kirkland vodka always in the house, perfect for bloody’s and screwdrivers. There scotch isn’t bad either, good with soda. But Don’t like there gin. About every 3 months, I will go into the liquor store and buy a gin I’m never had and give it a try. Some cheap others not. I’ve been lucky, most of the time😆

The Bombay Sapphire actually tastes a little to strong to me. I have a mostly untouched bottle that's been in the liquor cabinet for at least a decade.

When it turns really toasty here, a drink with plenty of cubes is the way to go. I've even got those 1970's metal tumblers that sweat and keep your drink cold.
