Snowing like Winter. Went out to bring in some wood and there it was, falling with a purpose. One more cat came in the house.

I have tickets for the Alan Parsons project in PHX tomorrow night, I am dispatched in Vegas to drop at our company facility ( 2 hours north of Vegas) with a 12:30 PM appointment... I will be at the dock at 7AM hoping to get moved up the roster...

The new computer arrived today. Nothing fancy, a Dell Inspiron with a much faster CPU than what I had before, around 2.4 ghz. Quite a bit more RAM and storage. Windows 10. A real step up from my old 6 cylinder model.

Thanks for the tip. I declined all of the sharing options upon installation. We will see what happens. Now I need a Parallel to USB adapter so I can use my ancient HP Laser Printer. It is fast and reliable but getting creaky. It must be over 20 years old. This new Dell lacks Parallel port but still has a Serial for the monitor. And of course, I need updated software all around. All sold subscription now. That will be costly. |

44° this morning. Leaving here in about 10 minutes to head about 40 miles north to Spokane. Shweetie got her first public job this week since we were married almost 30 years ago. She's a part-time teacher's aid in the school now, and I have to take her in to get finger printed. I think it's called empty nest something-something. Our 7 kids are all grown, so she had to go find some more kids to love and spoil.  |

John you can install the old software in compatibility mode. Except for Office but even that has free versions at this point. Did you get a new monitor as well I spoiled myself with Samsung 28 inch that does 4k.

It's a cold rainy day here in Carolina..The high is only supposed 39..It's supposed to warm up starting tomorrow...Just as I'm typing this I see snow flakes mixed in with the rain..I really could do without days like this.

 52 degs, North wind strong at 10 to 15: bookcase laying on carpet in living room, ready for reenforceing slats, don’t feel like it. Our college UL has an Art Museum featuring art by Winston Churchill. Son paints might see if he wants to go look. Something to do while annoying Super Bowl Crap is all over TV, don’t watch Kneelers !

It's been bitter here the last few days. Did a graveside funeral this afternoon and I almost froze to death myself. Umbrellas were blowing inside out etc too. Thankfully it was only for 5 minutes. I'm really missing my pipes too. I know I could go into the shed, but it's a mess and so freakin cold that it puts me off. I'll wait until better weather but I sure can't wait until the sun comes out a little stronger. Ireland has some weather. The cold gales blowing off the Atlantic. There was a reason women would wrap themselves up in a long wool shawl. that is what can withstand the wind and rain. so that day was bitter and with sleet etc. The next day was 14 degrees (57F). Ireland weather is certainly strange. |

Ready to roll in the morning all that's hooked up is water and power. Momma dissed me today and bought some new rugs. Then we threw out two big trash bags of stuff like movies we will never watch and those kind of things. Now we are sitting with the fake fireplace going as it is nippy in the swamp.

Clear, 54 degs, sunny, finally. Put a muffin fan in my Wineador, got it on a timer,humidity was too high had beads not soaked brought humidity down from 72 to 67, looking good. No sports to watch, don’t like basketball, no NFL FAN, guess t will be a reading weekend.

No sports to watch, don’t like basketball, no NFL FAN, guess t will be a reading weekend. I am not much of a Pro Ball fan. I enjoy college and High School football. Watching millionaires collide is not much fun. I enjoy the Superbowl mostly for the creative ads. Sadly the fans I used to watch with prerecorded the game and fast forwarded through the ads. They could stand anything which keeps them from the game. I never had the kind of devotion. Glad you got the wine cabinet circulating. Mine has sat empty for years as I can no longer afford to stock it. LOL! Some great memories of wonderful wines. |
