Thank you everyone for the well wishes for my wife.
I told her you guys were wishing her well while I was taking her to the hospital this morning.
She said "that's sweet".
She went into surgery a couple hours ago.
I'm waiting for an update from the doctor.

On my birthday yesterday it was bucketing out of the heavens so there was no birthday pipe for me. That was OK, because my Neerup pipe that I ordered hadn't arrived. Today it's a little chilly (started off around 3 degrees this morning) but the sun is out and I'm hoping that my Neerup pipe will arrive for me to try out later on this afternoon. The day is done. (Also the title of favorite poem of all time, by Longellow). I got a lot of stuff moved and organized at the fire relief site. Came home and helped Will with a bucking, fighting mare we just got in (we saw a breakthrough, she came around). Had an excellent supper after that of gravy, biscuits and fried potatoes. I just fired up a Punch Clasico on my front porch rocker, along with a short two fingers of Buffalo Trace.
All is well.

The problem with both has been battery terminals not being shinny clean. So, I carry a terminal brush in both and, viola!, they start right up. So, don't forget the obvious. |

The neerup pipe arrived today. I tried it out with some Carter hall... What a smoker!!
Earlier this evening I started coughing and couldn't stop for about 45 mins. Such a tickle in my throat. Started to think the Rona had got me. From what I can tell, a couple more of those and I should get tested. Here's hoping it was just a tickle.

Man that is one happy looking dog Uncle Walt. Of the 3 previous small dogs that we have had...all Chihuahuas, this Yorkie is the smartest and the most loving of all...she got me wrapped with just a soft whimper...doesn't bark. |

Drove in to Humble to finish cleaning out the house, hopefully. A lot left to do. Agent is coming by tomorrow to have a look. I mentioned to the wife that they are closing the last dog race tracks in the US and they will be euthanasizing the thousands of dogs that don't get adopted. So.....
Tomorrow morning we're going to the local greyhound shelter to see about acquiring another dog. I like big dogs so I am OK with it.

Took the little ones to the Dr. Thursday, they have the flu. They had their shots, but I'm guessing they didn't have time to do their thing.
Long story short, my sweet little snot nosed babies were kind enough to share. I woke up this morning feeling like I got hit by a semi truck.
