Well I know you feed the critters every day check the hay bale area. The best part about being married is my wife carries my good glasses in her purse. The older pair never leaves the computer desk or hangs from the neck of my tshirt. The sunglasses stay in the truck. You might call the café you have been over there a lot lately. I feel for you because I know like me you never lose the spare older pair. I always lose the ones that I can see good out of with out scratches.

Just picked up the "baby" from the vet...she had her teeth cleaned and got some shots for her allergies and a radiograph of her mouth and x-ray of her back...she apparently had been hit by a car in her previous life and it mended a little crooked which gives her a funny walk...but she is 12 years old and entitled to anything that may be wrong with her...$1,300.00 for all the work, but at least we now know everything about her and what to do to make her life easier. We really love our dogs/children.

I ordered lumber and stuff from Lowe's yesterday morning, and I went to pick it up at noon today. I was waiting for an hour for the convenient curbside pickup.

Cut limbs obscuring views from two treestands and mowed deer trails. Getting ready for the harvest.

That is not quite as panful as driving 135 miles to Home Depot in Santa Fe after receiving a call that my window order is in. Arriving there, I am asked "what windows? Who the fudge are you?". Not fun. Turned out they gave them to someone else.

The people at Lowe's all seemed to be doing their best. They were swamped with customers. There were 4 trucks with trailers in front of me. 3 guys who were old enough to know better loaded concrete blocks on the front of their trailer until the front wheels of the F250 were almost off the ground. The others also got huge loads. Plenty of business up here and not enough people willing to work. All of the skilled trades are understaffed and can't even hire people who will show up.

Took older folks to vote well three of them they rolled out a voting machine for them to the truck. Ok that's my good deed for the rest of the year. So don't blame me when you get a commie for president!

I had no trouble with Lowes when I picked up the genset but I got there right when they opened in the wee hours of the morning. The folks were really nice and loaded it up for me and I did not have to wait very long. It can be hard to get enthused about going to a dead end job when helping someone move pays more money. That or some other side job or going to a interview for a better job. If corporations don't pay a living wage with a 40 hour work week and benefits don't expect much.

Before I had my eyes lasered 16+ years ago, my vision measured 20/400 or worse. If my glasses were out of arm's reach, I was hosed, and I understand the panic that is not finding your glasses! I usually do not wear them inside as they are for distance. Like driving or seeing who is poaching in my field. As long as I do not go anywhere, not a problem. Being an accountant I get that being nearsighted is supposedly better. Being an avid outdoorsman, and a firearms enthusiast, I do so wish I had it your way!

He has helped me since a few times even outside the store. He comes up this way to bag elk.

I have a daughter that works for Home Depot in Kentucky. She 19, single, 5' 2 and 100lbs soaking wet. She's constantly having to help customers load lumber and stuff because she can never find the guys to help. They're always hiding in the back or something. Its not really her job, but she had the misfortune of being raised by her mom and I, and she cant stand seeing something needing done and not stepping in. Heck. Bums on the payroll aint nothing new. Its human nature as old as man. But its sure a tough job working there.

When I'm in a HD or Lowes I end up helping more people than the employees. If they could hire better people they would. If she keeps it up she will be managing them bums, whether they wante it or not. As I said, its not that they seem unwilling, they are just too busy. Now the stores in Houston have what would be known as hardcore unemployables. It would be cheaper to pay them a grand not to work.

I recall asking an HD employee a gas plumbing question at the store in Santa Fe. "How would I know?", he replied. "I was a licensed Electrician". So, I asked him what he is doing in the Plumbing Department? He replied this is where the Manager put him and he does the best he can about something little known to him. That kind of stupidity is hard to believe until I asked the manager I knew there. His response? They do not want HD employees giving out electrical advice, too much liability. So, they place experienced people in departments they are unfamiliar with to keep them from "advising" customers. How we came to be such a screwed up society I cannot imagine.

Went to the sawbones today to fill up little tubes with blood for labs. For being such a good boy I was rewarded with half box of very special lollipops and a bag of prescription samples I take.

Ran the dawgs with the Rhino. First time ever ran it out of petrol and had to hike back to the shop for the truck. Dumkkopf! Filled ‘er up, took the truck back and hiked back. The doggos thought it was great fun.

Pretty good day here. A little humid. We had to go to Atlanta to Walmart, the hardware store and the antique store. Picked up some fried chicken from Golden Chick on the way home. Didn't get any work done except for fixing the wife's PC and getting her printer working.

I cannot comment publicly about which home improvement conmpany dropped the ball.... but recently while in an Arizona town, I happened upon a drum that had every known hazardous waste intermingled and it started off- gassing with smoke and noxious fumes. The corporation decided that they needed to not have premium paid employees to handle the hazardous products “ Everyone will be in charge of it” Ensuring that no one had a clue. They had a toxic bomb on their hands. I saw the remediation invoice, it would have been a hell of a lot cheaper to have a person with a brain overseeing it all.
