Keeping fingers and toes crossed for a successful sale, Ronv69.We have about 10 more showings scheduled. We shall see. The nice letter that came with the offer impressed us. A nice Mexican American family with a 2 year old and a dog. Let us hope they can swing it.

Finally found my eyeglasses.
ten days of searching.
On the floor under the bed in a dark corner. I missed them when I check under there last week. Today, the light was at different angle and the spot lit up enough to see.

A wonderful day! 65ish, sunny, light breeze. But best of all the dawgz were working so well. Iβve started working them from the Rhino (side-by-side UTV) to give them more distance than I can manage when I am on foot. Theyβre getting about 3x the run as before. Eli, the pup, was a gem today and that always makes me happy. Eli and Jack are working well together and sometimes Jack seems to be enjoying the company. Hunters on the place last evening had their hunt disrupted by a pack of 6-7 coyotes that showed up chasing a deer. I hate it when the βotes pack up. Means they need to be taught some manners. When itβs calving season (which it is not) itβs always VERY bad news. By then I hope to have reduced their numbers a bit.

Worked in the barn most of the day. Got the first inside and outside GFI plugs in. Nobody up here has drop lights so I picked up some cheap clip lights from Walmart.

It was a cold, windy rainy day today. Drove about 160 miles south and picked up an 18' stock trailer. It's old, but really solid. All the wiring is good, floor and tires are sound, and it pulls really sweet.
Trailers are stupidly expensive up here, so I'm really pleased I found this one so cheap. There were about 8 people in line for it, but I showed up first with the cash, so it came home with me.

I am in San Diego tonight, will be in Chula Vista one more night before I rake the Spurs back to Arizona. I spent about a year and a half of my teens in Chula vista. My Dad was stationed in San Diego, and we lived there in Chula Vista. I ended my sophomore year and started my JR year in high school at Chula Vista High. I've often wondered how much has changed. (Besides like.. Everything...)

Another day gone, as always I stayed busy at the office. Enough so that I was brain dead by the time I left. So I just spent the better part of an hour doing some hand sanding on my latest creation. I hope to have it finished this weekend for show and tell.

Thing is that they are very heavily built to begin with.

And this just in... 9YO hunter, with his dad, took a 10-pt buck with his bow just a couple of hours ago. The kid is stoked!

Ha! No, one of those new-fangled crossbows. I know that they were invented 600 years ago, but I like the elegance of a recurve myself. When I can't pull my Harold Groves bow, then I guess I will stick to guns. But that's still good going for a kid his age. Pictures would be good with the tyke all camo-ed up π

(Besides like.. Everything...) In 1978 I had a girlfriend in Chula Vista, she definitely lived in a blue collar neighborhood that had seen better days. Fast forward 32 years... it looks like not a dime has been put into the same homes, it seems that the middle class has really shrunk in this area, you have the rich in palatial homes and the shacks. Maybe my memory is different with the passing of the years, I do find myself at times wearing rose colored glasses. I had a disaster of sorts today servicing a home improvements store, it amazes me how lackadaisical some of these corporations are in the way they operate, I will be on a conference call with the safety manager tomorrow. I was never in danger mind you, but it was really a shitshow.

I once made the mistake of going by childhood home in Anaheim off Harbor Blvd lesson learned. For years Disney tried to buy a large strawberry farm from a old Oriental guy it took his kids about five minutes to sell on his demise and that my friends is now Disneyland California.

Its about 28Β° this morning, calling for snow by Sunday.
There is an old workshop here on the property that has been used for storage for years before we moved in. Its pretty tight against the wind, and it has a good barrel stove still set up in it. My plan today is to get that cleaned out and the junk hauled off, and to turn it into a warm man cave to hang out in and a place to smoke in this winter.

Today, the light was at different angle and the spot lit up enough to see. Here is a typical thing for me to do. Can't find my eye glasses. Finally find them on my face. Once I had taken off my glasses and forgot they were in my hand and went around looking for them. I even passed them from my right hand to my left as I used my right hand to open a drawer and see if I had put my glasses in there. At least you had a reason.

Fine looking kid. Heβs going to be a credit to us as hunters and outdoorsmen. We need more like him! I agree we need more young people who know what hunting is about and have the right values. So many unfortunate examples here: dead horses, dead goats, cut fences, bullet holes in houses and barns. We have an epidemic of trash hunters here. That what happens when there is no law enforcement and parents do not teach their kids. It is nice a young person who knows what they are doing.
