Finally found my eyeglasses. ten days of searching. On the floor under the bed in a dark corner. I missed them when I check under there last week. Today, the light was at different angle and the spot lit up enough to see. Here is a typical thing for me to do. Can't find my eye glasses. Finally find them on my face. Once I had taken off my glasses and forgot they were in my hand and went around looking for them. I even passed them from my right hand to my left as I used my right hand to open a drawer and see if I had put my glasses in there. At least you had a reason. I've said it before and I'll say it again :Youth is wasted on the young. I think we should be able to suck the life out of some of the Gen Ys and inject it into us old folks who need it. 😈😁🤠😉

He’s going to be a credit to us as hunters and outdoorsmen. We need more like him! I agree we need more young people who know what hunting is about and have the right values. So many unfortunate examples here: dead horses, dead goats, cut fences, bullet holes in houses and barns. We have an epidemic of trash hunters here. That what happens when there is no law enforcement and parents do not teach their kids. It is nice a young person who knows what they are doing. The younger people here that I have met say "yes sir and no sir and thank you sir", and bust their asses working. Have I mentioned that I love it here? Spent half the day going to Marshall and then to a "suburb" of Carthage to pick up a once used $350 spray painter for $150, then after driving 125 miles a installed the attic pull-down stairs. The instructions warned that it is a two man job, but I don't have any help so I did it by myself. I am guessing that I am worth at least 2 modern men. Metrosexuals? 👹👺😜🤠

I just passed 12000 posts. And I have a life too. I've been busier than my grandmother building coffins after the Great Storm!

Had a bad fall yesterday onto tile stairs. I am feeling it much more this morning. The point of contact was the sharp joint of riser and tread which met my arm, almost in the spot I broke 60 years ago.
Falling has been a problem for me, balance is shot. No more skate boarding or surfing for me.

Yesterday I did the work of 2 men. Today I can hardly move. 😒 Had leg cramps all night. Took quinine, magnesium, mustard and a lot of walking. This morning I had more mustard and a glass of pickle juice. Left arm feels like it was in an arm bar wrestling hold for a couple of hours.

Cold and windy again today. About 26°. We're supposed to have snow move in this afternoon.
Shweetie is worried about her chickens, which have been free-ranging all summer. Looks like I'll be cleaning out all the stored junk from the old chicken house, and buttoning it up.
Gotta keep Shweetie happy 😊

You guys my age take it easy and don't overdo it. I learned I just don't have the strength or coordination I did as a youth.

First of all, you have got to stop repeating "Children of the Night, what music they make". Second, that cape and tuxedo have to go. Could you try lounge pants and a Henley shirt? Third, try sleeping at night rather than during the daylight hours. Just saying.....

Not feeling all that great today. Put up a couple more panels of decking in the barn loft and called it quits. Driving back to Humble tomorrow 520 mile round trip.

Had a great day yesterday. Got up to 81'F, but was windy. Today, cold and raining. Took to 2 month old puppy out to potty and she looked at us like we were nuts!!!!! But the maple tree in our front yard has reached it's color peak! Our neighbors on both sides of us have the same tree in their yards so it looks very colorful every fall on our block.

The first brutal winter air has hit the gulf coast at 56 degrees at 1600 hours I shudder to think the extreme low temps I might have to suffer come daylight. Actively seeking out a Henley shirt because my New Mexico fashion guru recommends them if I want to be cool in a good way. Also modeling my new Release the Kraken undies in hope of procreating then my better half will want to snuggle keeping me warm. Its a hard luck life when winter comes to call.

First fire of the season in the wood stove this evening. For the next five months, life will center on the stove and constant feeding day and night.

The weirdest thing happened today.
I pulled into a DOT inspection facility today for a level1 inspection, I passed with flying colors from the inspector. paperwork and truck was all in order, the tough inspector looked through the trailer and tried to wiggle all of the hazmat straps nothing would budge.
“I noticed that there was the smell of smoke in the cab, do you smoke when transporting?”
“ Never, I unhook from the trailer, pull 20 feet away and enjoy a pipe or cigar on my eighth hour break”
“Right answer, I am going on break, are you busy?”
“ I am paid by the hour”
I met him out back handed him a cigar, loaded up my pipe and we had a good chat, sharing information.
Raked the Spurs and headed to the barn, and the company safety officer liked the clean inspection I transmitted.
All in all a good day.
In town next week, meeting with senior management next week for dinner.
Off to New Mexico the week after that, a nice reprieve from going to California.

This is my morning this morning. Reckon its strictly a smoke and coffee inside day. Glad I got the man cave done when I did.
