I’m sorry to hear that you lost your dad, Darin. I just read your post on your loss.
I heard this song earlier while working in the office today, and took a break to contemplate the song about the loss of a father.

trailboss … I can't believe you posted that particular song as it has always been my "Dad's Song". Dan Fogelberg's father, Lawrence, was the "Leader of the Band" at MY high school and my dad knew him.

That... is crazy.
Pretty cool, but crazy. I guess that it was meant to be played, I don’t believe in coincidences.

I saw a huge tree today that the storm pulled up roots and all..It missed a house by just a few feet..That tree is said to be well over 100 years old.

Finally got started on the wiring today. Not that much done, but I did get the truck and trike inspected so I can order plates.

Finished my side gig and got the overhead run. I had to put the heads on and torque them and I charged him extra. Had a nice lunch and quickly deposited the check into savings. Note to self I am getting to worn out to big red engines in class 8 trucks.

Somehow I managed to lose my framing hammer that Ive had for 17 years. I had to buy a new one, and seriously, it hurt me inside.
Training a new hammer is a LONG process.

Every time I start a new project that requires framing, I go to Harbor Freight and buy a new nail gun. They go bad if they sit up for 10 years. 😏🙄😒

I got me a new Kobalt hammer and I swear that I can hit nails better with it! Just think if I could afford a Snap-On hammer! I have good luck with Stanleys, except they keep disapearing.

My last one was a Bostitch 22oz that was exactly like an Estwing, just a yellow handle.
My new one is a 22oz Estwing. Its just not the same. And its never going to be.

No thanks! I dont mind cheaper hammers as long as they're somewhat balanced right. My boss has one that is the most awkward thing to use, ever.

You have a muscle memory that expects the exact balance of YOUR hammer. Even little things that shouldn't be noticable your muscles can tell because it's become part of your body.

Somehow I managed to lose my framing hammer that Ive had for 17 years. I had to buy a new one, and seriously, it hurt me inside. Training a new hammer is a LONG process. A hammer can be a be a special tool. It becomes more "valuable" the more you build with it. I have my hammer, my grandfather's hammer, my grand-uncles hammer and my dad's hammer. My "grand-uncle" (my grandfather's brother) was a master carpenter for the Wabash Railroad when all the passenger car interiors were wood. Every time I start a project, I decide "who" is going to help me with it by which hammer I choose.

I have had my dad's hammer for 61 years. It still needs a new handle. 🙄

Tools. Where we would be without them. And OLD tools are the best, for the hand and the spirit. My grandfather was a machinist with the railroad and in the merchant marine. I have his tools. He had retired when the Germans began their U-Boat campaign in the north Atlantic. Pi$$ed him off so bad he went down to the union hall and signed up for sea duty. Then my grandmother went down and had his papers pulled. He never forgave her.

My Framing Hammer of choice is the 32 ounce I have had for decades. Now illegal in Los Angeles County for construction jobs as the Workman's Comp claims about bankrupted the system. Seems to many guys were terminating their opposite thumb with them.

Good evening Patchers. I spent my day working on my newest creation. By working I mean two false starts, 2x miss drill; two blocks down . Fortunately it was early enough in the process that I have enough left on them to use for something else. So far the third attempt is working. All that said, I was supposed to go into the office and get some work done as I missed Friday. Unfortunately, my key card doesn't open the front door to the building (It's supposed to) So I'm about a day behind for tomorrow... I'll have the boss fix my access in the morning.

Do you deliver? Will trade tobacco for sausages!! Sorry, too far. Best I can do is post the recipe. The "secret" ingredient is BACON. Meat: 3lbs chicken breast, 3lbs chicken thighs, 2lbs bacon. Seasoning: 6tsp salt, 2.5tsp pepper, 2 tsp sage, 1.5tsp thyme, 1tbsp powdered garlic, 5tbsp minced garlic. 10oz baby spinach.
