Very windy here today..Some really smart folks took a sail boat out on the lake..It flipped over..Rescuers are looking for folks in the water. S.O.S. hoping/praying for a good outcome! If you haven't flipped a sailboat then you haven't been sailing! First you learn how to right the boat, canoe, or whatever you are in that might turn over. Nothing is more fun than sailing in a high wind, skipping over the tops of the waves with the tiller in one hand and the mainsheet in the other.

Damn, Ron!
You should have hooked up with a trucking company and had them spot a '53 trailer and done it in one shot.
Pick up day laborers at each end.

I find myself rather depressed tonight. There is someone who is no longer here. Someone I could have done something. It weighs on me so often that I can't sleep. R.I.P. my friend. I am so f$#@ing sorry I couldn't get there in time. Sorry to hear about your friend.

Damn, Ron! You should have hooked up with a trucking company and had them spot a '53 trailer and done it in one shot. Pick up day laborers at each end. Thing is that we have to store all this stuff. It takes time. And we needed to make repairs on the house before we could place stuff. Then there is the barn, which is only 80% finished. Lots of reasons why we couldn't do that.

When I moved to the High Plains I bought an “elderly” 53’ van (a reefer actually not I used it so) a friend brought a team of gorillas to empty my house of 36 years and load the trailer in one day. I filled TWO 30’ dumpsters with... stuph. Hired a driver and tractor and came out so far under moving companies’ estimates that I could hardly believe it. Still have the trailer and it serves as a good, sound storage unit.

Another rapper was shot in a Walmart parking lot in southwest Houston today. I just can't wait to go back. 😭

I reviewed the governor's new order closing everything down again...in preparation for all the questions I'm gonna get from our clients tomorrow. No Thanksgiving and by the way, you can't sing in church anymore. It will not be an easy day.

No Thanksgiving and by the way, you can't sing in church anymore. It will not be an easy day. I will be very happy when this year is over. I have a huge bonfire of limbs and logs collected from my property that I was going to burn New year's Eve, but I think I will wait another day.

Nothing is more fun than sailing in a high wind, skipping over the tops of the waves with the tiller in one hand and the mainsheet in the other. That is certainly true and was the first thing I had to do when I took a dinghy sailing class in college. I grew up on sailing fixed keel boats displacing about two tons. They were open cockpit (Knarr & Nordic Folkboat). If you swamped, they went down.

Drove over to the processor to pick up my deer meat this morning. Beautiful drive, enjoyed by both myself and the dawgz. Got 107# of eats off that buck. Hadda make room in the big freezer. Got three more tags, plus some hungry neighbors.

Fun night at Pistol League tonight. Each shooter had a silhouette target in his lane and another in the next lane over. Each shooter had 2 magazines, each loaded with 5 rounds. One was loaded into the gun with 1 in the chamber. The lights were turned out, then spotlights illuminated one target or the other for ~2 seconds. If the spotlight was flickering, you were supposed to shoot the head. If it was solid, shoot the torso. Sometimes both targets were illuminated in which case you had ~4 seconds to shoot them both. Had to reload on the fly.
After all 10 rounds were fired, the set was over. Reloaded the mags and moved the targets. Then repeated.
Shot 5 sets, 10 rounds each set, total 50 rounds. Targets at 15', 21' 30', but both targets never at same distance during a set.
A lot of fun, and I seem to do better at this kind of shooting rather than just shooting a certain number of rounds at a bullseye in a certain time period. Gets the blood pumping!
Possible 500 points. I think I shot around 405 or 410 tonight.

Just got back home from another 520 mile run down to Harris County for a load of tools. Trailer and truck loaded to the gills and back on the road. They have moved the closing to December 4th, so I have plenty of time to finish the shop before I have to pick up the last load of stuff. Not much left except for some odds and ends of screws and bolts and such, and a big 36"x7' workbench that would be prohibitively expensive to build with the price of lumber these days. It's got a 1.75 inch thick tongue and groove top. Perfect reloading table! 😁

I made a table like that, not quite as big and put it on casters for the obvious reason. I believe everything should be movable except for safes.

Nice morning this morning, 40° and no wind. Going to town to pick up a washer and dryer for Shweetie. They're used, but barely.
This young man that's staying with us is really turning his life around. He wants to start working on all the legal issues from his past now, so Im also taking him to go see a lawyer for some advice on where to begin
