We used to always buy a frozen turkey roll. Just enough for our small family, no bones or complex cooking. Haven't seen them in years. They had the white and dark meat all rolled together and a packet of giblet gravy. I have cooked those and you are right they are seldom seen. I like the whole bird bones and all. I stil stuff them even though that is no longer recommended as safe. In cooking school, it was recommended butterfly or spatch them so they can be roasted in volume. That also mean more even cooking amongest the parts.

You can still find them, but they are certainly not readily available from my experience. We got a couple last year that were all white meat for our holiday party, then just did sliced turkey for a make your own sandwiches setup.

I found some at Walmart, but they are only 2 pounds. But they are also only 4 bucks so I'll get 2 or 3. 😁

I love turkey legs and wings. Wings and barley baked in an iron pot with a soupy stock was a real treat.
As usual, they just do not come here.
I used to share Thanksgiving meals at a neighbor's house. The two teenage boys always got the Drumsticks. Certainly not going to deny them that pleasure!! I would go on about what this country needs is a four legged turkey....

It is 2 am. One of my cats has started mowing me for breakfast. If I don't feed him he will not stop 🙄. Might as well feed them and have a pipe.

Beautiful day today. Sunny and clear, cold but no wind.
My daughter is on the road right now, coming up from Idaho with the grandbabies for the holiday. They should get in around 2 pm my time. ☺😊😄😅😁

Im pulling out here in a bit to go look at a truck. My '95 F350 7.3 is needing some substantial shop time, and I cant be without a truck that long. There is a guy about an hour away with an '04 F350 single axle 4x4 with a bullet-proofed 6.0 that he's selling worth the money to get out from under a truck payment. I know all the fears about the 6.0, but I had one, and it was a great engine.
We will see

Unfortunately had to tell a friend that it is time to see how it is in the real world. Unfortunate but like her family and friends I have to walk away for my own sanity.

I just ordered a turntable from Amazon. A Pro-ject T1 BT. Not very expensive. but I have a huge number of records from the 60's, 70's and 80's I haven't been able to play for a long time. Finally decided to was time to break down and get one.

Cold at 27° this morning, but not windy. My oldest daughter and her babies made it in yesterday afternoon. After going in to church this morning, we will come back here and hang out while Shweetie heads to Spokane to pick up my 20 year old twin daughters at the airport.
My son-in-law will fly in thuresday morning, and my oldest son comes in Friday. 6 of my 7 will be here this week. My son in the Marines couldnt get travel clearance off of Hawaii because of covid shutdown.
