I officially pulled the plug and tendered a resignation letter. Last week's run into El Paso was just too much, and when I do get back to the yard, the self serving duo make life around them miserable. A lot of passive aggressive nonsense along with actions taken that increase my workload. I interviewed with an industrial plumbing company that would be local (Inside of Arizona, 90% of the work in the PHX metropolitan area)...cautiously optimistic. The three people in management that I tendered my resignation all responded very nice, and my immediate boss told me that I performed stellar work under challenging circumstances and that I will be missed. The bosses all there are cool, they just have to manage operations with what they have, and other departments have just taken on so many accounts, it is just overwhelming out in the field. As you get older, you find that more and more jobs just aren't worth the trouble. I was lucky in my last job and if it wasn't for the health problems I would still be working there.

I have been pulling vines off the trees and fence around the property, and for some reason I always neglect to put on gloves. I have thorns in all but 2 fingers. No signs of infection, but they are sore as heck. That'll learn ya!!! You'd think! This isn't the first time. 😢

Yeah, too many times I told myself, "It is only one pallet to stack, I will skip the gloves" And I end up with a splinter.

Yeah, too many times I told myself, "It is only one pallet to stack, I will skip the gloves" And I end up with a splinter. Pallets are splinter factories. I used to have to move them when I worked the night shift at a printing company. Never any gloves around. Of course, at 3am, pre-press and the pressmen would get into a pallet war, throwing pallets across the shop. We didn't worry about gloves then. 😜🤠

Cant stand gloves of any kind unless for warmth or welding. Worked on yellow iron and lots of other things I need a sense of touch. Cant stand Latex my hands turn to a giant sponge instantly but lots of folks like them. At this stage of the game my hand are no longer like Kevlar so I end looking like I played with barded wire when I do work on anything.

Cooked another turkey for the freezer today. Packaged it up in 1lb vacuum/sealed packages.
A 17lb turkey only gets you 5lbs of meat.
Then made a batch of Chex Mix.
And that makes 1000 posts!

Oof. I headed to bed just after 12 AM, but couldn't fall asleep until after 4. Almost considered just getting up and starting the day, but I finally fell asleep. This has been a little more prevalent lately and I need to figure out why. Insomnia sucks.

30° and windy. I need to move a trailer about 20' from where it currently sits. That's the grand total of my plans for the day. Other than that, lots of coffee and cigars in the man cave by the wood stove.

Up early, storm coming early, let Buddy out, made coffee, found a Arturo Rothchild, smoked it on porch before cold front storm pushed in.

These are the 2015-2018 blends and found them a tad smoother with a hint of leather profile.

I will certainly look for the white band and give them a try. I'll probably have a Partagas Black Label to start with, or maybe an Aging Room Quattro.

Going to try to finish the paneling in the barn today. We had a storm blow through about 2:30 am that shook the house with the straight line winds. With all the trees we have that's impressive. I suppose it's close to Jefferson Parishbby now.

Nothing like that on the horizon for me. Sometimes my mind just races and I can't hit the brakes, lol. It could also be the late evening nicotine. It has been known to do that to me from time to time.

So very true. I got to the end of my tether with my last corporate job and the endless Stuffed Shirt Big Shots. Oh, so very important. One my last deals was for Santa Fe Southern Pacific Railroad. Their CFO back then was an elderly Midwestern man who mostly wore brown suits and affected a Harry Truman type demeanor. He was a pleasure to work with. Now I like my Ditch Rider position. Me, along the banks of irrigation canals and ditches. Just th plants, some wildlife, sunshine, wind, quiet.

This has been a little more prevalent lately and I need to figure out why. Insomnia sucks. Similarly for me, but mine was all work induced. The night before a trip I was in knots, and worse at the hotels knowing what lied for me in the days ahead. One night a vagrant made it into the hotel and pulled the fire alarm that they could not turn off for 4 hours resulting in two days without any sleep...I felt like I was on a 48 hour drunk.
It might be related to sleep apnea, but it can be the nicotene also. Alcohol before bedtime can get me to sleep quickly but I think the alcohol conversion to sugar can give you an unneeded boost in the middle of the night and medical evidence bears out the fact that alcohol can rob you of the REM sleep that you need. A sleep clinic study can determine if sleep apnea is an issue and a cpap can really make a difference. In my case I had a deviated septum that I had corrected, after doing that I sleep like a baby in my own bed. There is no cure for my work related sleep deprivation but next week I have an in town assignment then I am on to doing local work for good!

Dewayne, if I were you, I’d go for the F55 Quattro. There’s a reason why it was rated #2 in CA’s Top 25 when it came out. Pair it with either a Dr. Pepper or black coffee to bring out all the nuances and just enough sweetness from the cigar to make you smile. Cheers brother.😁👍

My friend Jett brought me a 75dollar Honey Baked Ham gift card. Pretty jazzed about that as their ham is out of my comfort zone.

When I was still working for the payroll company I was in charge of security for the information of 500000 clients employees and 3+ Billion in average bank deposits. I had trouble sleeping because of that and I didn't even realize that was eating at me. 4 million dollars of security devices and services finally enabled me to get a good night's sleep, just before I retired. I know that you are in IT. A regular exercise routine is required to stay healthy in that kind of job.

I get lots of exercise when I take the dogs for a run. The Rhino doesn’t have power steering.

Remember that new battery I bought well it got installed today along with anew set of J-hooks for the tool box. No sign of the missing J-hook on one side but I was sure getting tired of putting the tool box back where is belonged. The old battery went into the fifth wheel connected to a constant trickle charge. It should be happy there for a few years. I did manage to cut my finger using my new Case knive while doing all this. Ok one small pile of stuff gone and only ten more to go.
