Cold with a wintery mix today; high is supposed to be only 39 F. To translate for the folks here who use the Celsius scale, that's colder than a baboon's butt in a blizzard.

Nice cool but sunny day here. It might hit 40 degrees (F).
Plenty chores to do but first a NAP!

A bit overcast and cool, but not cold. And no wind. All the women went to town do fru-fru coffee and boutique shopping. All the guys stayed home and drank real coffee. We just finished shooting, and are sitting around, some with pipes, some with cigars, all with more coffee.
We are sitting around planning out a multi-day horseback ride in the mountains of Idaho for next September, when my Marine gets out of the service.

Very nice indeed! How’s the homemade bread going? It turned out good. I also made lemon drizzle cake which turned out well too. There's bit much left, which means that bergen my wife and I, I've eaten about 90g of sugar and 90g of butter 😱 That's the problem when you're making things yourself - you know exactly what's in it. I'd rather be in blissful ignorance. Yes but I’m sure you’ve got a big grin on your face eating all that delicious food! Maybe a bowl and a coffee/tea to wash them all down?

Tinkered with the Strawberry wine today. Day 7. Transferred it from the Primary Fermenter to the Secondary - and installed the airlock. It's bubbling at ~1.7 times per second. Love it! That means sugar is becoming alcohol and CO2 at a very steady rate.
Made a couple batches of ice cream today. One lemon and one pumpkin spice. Didn't have any yellow food coloring for the lemon ice cream. Somehow it actually seems to taste better if it's yellow. I know it's the same, but there's something psychological going on.
I remember one time we decided to make ice cream. My wife wanted lemon and I wanted strawberry. She won the argument, but for the hell of it, I added red food coloring to it just to mess with her. And it really did mess with her. It kind of freaked her out eating lemon ice cream that was pink.

Working through my book of Sunday NY Times Crossword Puzzles.
While I enjoy these, it seems clear I am a dunce. Never could get along in NYC. Just not smart enough. Oh, well.

Cool and cloudy today in NE Texas. Did some honey-dos and went into Marshall for more lumber for the barn. Moved a bunch of boxes and other crap.

Crossword puzzle creators are just better with words. I keep at it though.

Fighting a nasty cold so lots of sleep this afternoon as the rain fell. Just turned on the fireplace to knock the chill out of the air. Skipped the shopping run around today but the wife brought home all kinds of goodies from coffee to olive oil along side a refilled bottle of date vinegar.

Went golfing today. Played well yesterday (I love this game). Pretty much sucked today (I hate this game). That's exactly how I feel about golf...except it's more shot by shot. I never play a full round well. I get lucky with a few shots and think I'm Tiger Woods, but the for majority, I'm more like Tigger Weeds.

I used to golf a few times a week for years and did pretty well, but for the last 5 years, I average 1 game per year and those games are just a disaster.

At the beginning of the season I’m rusty and my index goes up. During the season I’ll play well, all systems go only to hit a wall and suck again. Add wear and tear on the body with age equals a higher handicap. Yes it’s a game for life but my glory year’s have long left the field. Tigger Weeds it is. Maybe that’s why I pay to play and not the other way around. Cheers brother.😁🏌️♂️

A sunny but cold morning. +10 degrees (F). Wood Stove went out overnight as I chose to remain in bed at 0230. Blazing now and the house will warm up to 55 degrees before long.
We still have scattered snow on the ground. i wish more would come. Looks to be a lovely day. Hope to get those chores done. The first step it to put pants on!!!

Warmer today. Heading to Sunday services with the whole family this morning. Then my son and son-in-law will drive home to Idaho this afternoon to be at work tomorrow, and my twins fly out tonight for Kentucky.

Sunny and cool today. In other news, a this weekend my county crossed a COVID threshold: 10.1% of the population have tested positive. Insane.
Carry on.

You don't live in NYC, which suggests to me that you are more than smart enough. I did during the mid 1980s. Felt plenty dumb. Fortunately, the NYT Crosswords come in levels of progressive difficulty with Monday being the simplest and Saturday being the most difficult. Sunday's puzzle is supposed to be mid-level. However, the book of Sunday Puzzles I have is brutal beyond all understanding. These are from the early '00s. NYC must have been crueler and more demanding then?
