No major news like Charlie for me today. Wife’s over at her mom’s and I’m just catching up on my Briarpatch. Biggest decision for me is deciding what to smoke later. Hmmmm......

Been making fudge all afternoon. A Christmas tradition - especially my dad's peanut butter fudge. And, of course, have to make chocolate fudge. A little early, but I have to ship some to my daughter in Texas, so I decided not to wait until the last minute. Bought all the ingredients a couple of weeks ago. By now the stores are already running low on some things.

11°F this morning, rising to a sunny 38° in the afternoon. The boys got their run today and were up for it, big-time. Eli is in the middle of his “post-testicular descent” phase and thinks he is hot stuff. Had to correct him about deer scat and explain that it was not chocolate covered raisins, much to his dismay. (Raisins, of course, are a big no-no for doggies. So is deer scat IMO.) Was giving serious consideration to an orchidectomy next week but read up on it and was surprised by recent findings that contradict almost everything I thought I knew about it. Now re-pondering the whole plan.

I slept in till 9:30. Then after breakfast I went over to a friends to do some handyman work for them. Installed an electrical outlet (replaced the old one) two bathroom vent fans replaced, and I installed two Ring central doorbell cameras. I have to go back over and climb in the attic next weekend to figure out why the hall bath fan has no power.
I have to say I am impressed with the Ring Central. The kit came with all the hardware and tools, and not cheap crap like you get with a Wal Mart shelf kit. It even had a masonry bit to drill the mounting holes in the event you have block wall or stucco house exterior. I needed it..
Though I would do these things for friends just because they are friends, they paid me as they know I need the extra cash. GREAT friends! and when I am in a better place financially I'll still help out with these things but for free.

Broke the ice in the stock tanks using a pick. Ice is about six inches thick. I noticed the pick, an old one from here, has a bent tip. You know the ground is hard when the pick bends.

Thank you gentlemen, it has been a great journey with my best friend. A few years ago she lost her wedding ring and although she insisted that there was no need to replace it I took her to The Shane company selected a ring and diamonds to get her a proper ring. Although she kept insisting that it wasn’t necessary, she was delighted to pick one out.

Make sure that he has taken the proper measures to lock the ring system down, this type of nonsense has been happening with more frequency. www.vice.com/en/article/n7vndw/amazon-ring-doorbell-hacked-in-florida-swatting-incident

Hung pictures in the bedroom, hung a mirror and a shelf in the guest bathroom, fixed the living room gas fireplace, and a few other things from the honey-do list.

Relatively busy day today. Once we got moving, headed out to do some shopping. Liquor store to stock up on wine, and grabbed a bottle of Caol Ila as a treat for myself. Then off to the grocery store to get some basics, and grab some fresh cod for tomorrow's dinner. Home, then evening walk, then started in on dinner. Now the reason I went through all of that is that dinner was the pasta, after it was mixed with the egg, cheese, pepper and butter, with a few chunks of sausage on top. Essentially carbonara with sausage. Tradition to taste a bit before it goes in the roasting pan. Anyway, that's in and out of the oven, now I'm relaxing with a glass of wine in my study, puffing on some Fr. Dempsey.

Good Monday Morning.
-3 degrees (F) this Dawn. Colder than forecast but not unexpected. No anti-Gel in the fuel, so the truck will not be running for a for a while. Suits me, LOL! 47 degrees in the house but soon it will be warmer.
If I can get the barn door open, pile bales on the toboggan and drag out to feed the critters. That is enough activity for me!
