I have had a lot of good service from these Chore Coats. They have a blanket lining.

38 at noon. First time living with 4 seasons. I'm gonna need a winter work coat. I recommend Carhartt. Well, the Walmart and Tractor Supply were both out. So I ordered one from Amazon. The Carhartt was just too expensive so I ordered a Berne insulated green duck that actually had better reviews than the Carhartt. I should have looked at Walls, but I had already looked at the Berne at Tractor Supply in a smaller size and I liked it. I tend to go with Wall because I have worked with them and they are great people.

Making more edible goodies and packaging them up to give to the neighbors. Got to get all the cookies and fudge out of my reach. I've already eaten too much.
Wife and I decided to start an exercise program this morning. She's got a nice treadmill with a 15" screen that she can load hikes and workouts on. Pretty neat. She can load a hike up Mount Fuji, for example, and a guide will provide commentary - and the screen will show the guide, the trail and the scenery. The treadmill will change speed and incline according to the guide and the trail. All pre-recorded of course.
I just have an exercise bike. No built in workout videos. But it will record the workouts onto the same program that tracks my real bike rides in the warmer months.

We have a regular treadmill that I listen to audio books while I walk. We also have a weight machine, but I've been too busy to use either one this year.

Have had many a duck coat poor fresh motor oil on em and then pressure wash them clean flowed by a regular machine mash. Wala water proof. The wool lined are the warmest. Don't need a serious coat in the gulf coast so I get by with a heavy sweat shirt or jacket with a zipper.

Thank you to everyone that offered condolences and support, it is appreciated.
On the Carhartt coats, I recently saw some that appeared unused at a consignment store, not needing any coats, I took a pass.
I do wear a Carharrt quilted vest that sufficiently keeps my torso warm, sleeved jackets burn me up in the sonoran winter months.
I have a new pair of Carharrtt R28 BLK 34X34 bib overalls in black that will never fit me, if anyone is interested, shoot me a PM.

Outgrew the ski jackets and gave them to Goodwill. Up here it actually gets cold and stays cold.

There is one request for it pending a size check on his part.

Frost on the ground first time this season. Nice and snug in my zip up hoodie and the Chihuahua went potty in 30 seconds and even climbed the stairs to get back in the house.

0 degrees (F) this morning. 48 degrees in the house. Wood stove loaded and burning now.
I am scheduled to drive into the town of Toad this morning. Better plug in the truck and say a prayer that Jello returns to diesel fuel.

Charlie, brother, I'm so sorry to hear about your niece. I've been flat out getting 2 carol services prepared etc. that I haven't been around much, and the DC thread snowballs with new posts after a few hours let alone a few days, so I'm only seeing this now.
My thoughts and prayers are with your brother and the family.

Morning all. Chilly and still white here, despite our precipitation turning to rain overnight. That made the shoveling more salting than anything this morning. Lucky I went out twice yesterday, once right before it turned over to freezing rain. Saved me some back-breaking. Looks like this will stick around for a few days as the temps will stay right around freezing. Settled into my desk chair now with a cup of hot coffee and the second half of a bowl of Fr. Dempsey from last night. Enjoy the day all.

I used do a lot of writing years ago, and I even had a few articles published online at one time, although I dont know where they are now. There are 3 manuscripts in various stages of construction, a small collection of poetry and a children's book with illustrations finished and looking for a publisher. All of it had just been stored away and abandoned out of frustration.
At any rate, Shweetie has been on me for some time now to get back to it. Its gonna be a long winter for me, so I spent the last couple of days setting up the living quarters in my big horse trailer as an office. I dug out the old laptop and charged the battery, brought out some cigars and a thermos of coffee and started hammering away again.
She was right again, as usual. Ive missed this.

Just back from my first workout since May. Yesterday was so nasty that I never set foot outside, so today was it. The gym is huge, as is the parking lot, and just the walk into the place took up my treadmill strength. I was on a nu-step for a good while, then a chest press, a leg press, then some torso twisting thing...after two more set on the leg and chest press I was pretty much used up. It takes a good while to get in shape ,and only a short while to have your body fail you...my weakness was a slap in the face, but a well needed one. I'll spend the next few trips learning the gym, and building my workout into a pattern, also, I need to push away from the table a bit sooner, if I want to see some real results. Anyway...like all journeys, it's one step at a time, and today was my first step.

I need to get back into the gym myself, but the closest one is about 25 miles away, and shut down due to state covid restrictions.
When I do get back to the gym, I always use a system called Stronglifts 5x5. There is an app for it . Its all free weights, and it's super uncomplicated. Squats, deadlifts, bench presses and farmer's walk predominately.

Thanks Paddy, Darin, and Herbert, I appreciate it. A few days ago I told my then prospective boss that I was going to fly to Wichita from the 24th-27th to hang out with my brother dealing with a tragedy. Today my first day of work, I told the manager over me that I was making that trip. As I was doing the onboarding process, an employee walked in the room and he asked me what my plans are for Christmas, after telling him he said. "If you travel out of state the company policy states that upon your return you need to quarantine for two weeks before returning to work." "one guy went to Montana, and he had to do it, another went to Canada, so did he" Since the management team said nothing to me, I reckon it is a "see no evil, hear no evil", they want me at work ASAP. From here on out, mum's the word. If asked, I will tell them if not..."hey, I didn't know the policy".

Plan to start eating better too. 30 minutes on the exercise bike yesterday. 40 minutes today. Got to get back into a routine. When it warms up in the spring I plan to be in shape to start biking again. Goal is 3,000 miles in 2021.

If it ever starts up again there is a senior citizen exercise class twice a week just down the street. We might check in to see if we like being around normal old people.
