If it ever starts up again there is a senior citizen exercise class twice a week just down the street. We might check in to see if we like being around normal old people.
Normal is overrated. Absolutely! 😜

Uneventful, save for the daily dog run (when weather allows). Just the way I like it. Y'day my doc visit was my last off-ranch commitment until the 29th. When I have a long string of peaceful solitude, with my pups, I get such a blissful feeling that it's hard to describe. Just... peace and quiet. Not very exciting. But been there and done that and now I much prefer this "boring existence"— which I find anything but boring.

I got to see my parents today for the first time in about two years. They are in town over Christmas, possibly my mothers last and she has terminal lung disease brought on by untreated Rheumatoid Arthritis. This Christmas promises to be bittersweet!

I’m sorry to hear that Terry. I lost my mom at 17, and what I would give to have time with her. There is something special about someone that brings you into this world.

Adding my best wishes too Terry. I’m very happy that you got to see your mom and also saddened to hear about her present condition. I couldn’t have said it any better then Charlie’s remarks, “ There is something special about someone that brings you into this world.”

Warmer today. Mid 20s. A relief from the deeper cold.
I will resume wearing my normal work costume: moccasins, thong, and sunglasses.

Crying. Moaning. Whining. Not me, Eli. I put some cracked corn out for the squirrels, and now they are gathering under the office window to scarf it up. Eli sits in my reading chair next to the window to view the world and this is his first viewing of squirrels CU. He says they look tasty.

My class was ‘57 and was small to start with. Way smaller now. Saw a pic of the last reunion and wondered where all the damn old people came from.

They mostly look older than my wife and I, except for the ones that were cheerleaders. They mostly held up well. Until the end. When I say that most people my age are dead people act like I said something awful. Nobody lives forever.

It's overcast and very windy, but a bit warmer at 38° this morning. I have a few errands to run a bit later, and I need to pick up some hay for the horses. That about covers my plans for the whole day.

This week I have received notices that 7 people from my high school graduating class have died this year. I don't know how many people have passed that I don't know about. Between the excesses of the late 1960s and early 1970s and the Viet Nam War, my graduating class winnowed down faster than one might have thought. Fortunately, I am in touch with three of them and two from another school I attended previously in another city. Those are meaningful friendships.
