Honda Goldwing Motorcycle owners band together to form benevolent societies of like minded people. Help each other, socialize by riding together, swap stories, sacrifice Yamaha's and Harley Davidsons in forest rituals. Pretty much. GWRRA. Chapter N2, Humble Texas. Old folks who ride huge motorcycles thousands of miles a year in normal years. Pot luck dinners, game nights and stuff. Fun times! I went to my fair share of "Wingdings" growing up. The two that are most memorable were in Billings Montana and one in South Carolina. Just dad and I went down on the bike to South Carolina and we got to drive Deal's Gap in NC on the way down. I think my parents still have my vest with patches and pins from when I was little - I loved that vest! I have so many good childhood memories from the different GWRRA club events.

8° this morning and 53 by mid-afternoon. But with a vicious wind out of the NW that made it feel like 20°. On the dog run I found a bloodtrail coming from the neighbor’s property. Petered out with no body so I couldn’t follow it up and the dogs lost it, too. No doubt heading for the creek or it’s lying in the brush somewhere between here and there. I hate that. Such waste and suffering.

Never been to a Wingding. We don't care for crowds much. But the main reason is that they are always in the summer when it's too hot to ride all the way from Houston. We are thinking about going to the one in Springfield MO next year.

Definitely a deer.

I thought Wingdings was some kind of a fried chicken dish.

Had to work and it was a cluster screw. Two out of the three drivers were fill in drivers. So don’t really now the places my store delivers to so I had to hustle more overall it wasn’t that busy but felt like it at times. Glad next week is my off Saturday so I get a 3 day weekend so to Xmas and it’s a half day on Christmas Eve.

Thanks everyone for the wishes. Spent the evening last night with them and went back over this afternoon. We spent the day together, had moms home made Lasagna, and played a card game called nothing.

Anybody experience this "Sleep Paralysis" syndrome affecting CPAP and Narcoleptics?
I wake in the morning but cannot move. I am alert, sort of. Eventually I can move my feet but that is it. After about ten minutes I can move my hands a little. Seems to take quite a time to have enough movement to get out of bed. I read about this. It is not a big problem just weird.

I had something like that back when I broke my leg and was on vicodin for several weeks. Other than that, no. It would scare the crap out of me if it just happened.

Not too nice a day here. Started out sunny but soon got very overcast, along with an unpleasant wind. Crapped out on the dog run, much to their disappointment. Just couldn’t face another tramp in that cold NW blow. I’ll try to make it up to them t’row as we should get a break in the weather. Read, cooked, did some ‘organizing.’ Nothing exciting.

Reading about it, common with Sleep Apnea patients who use a CPAP at night and with Narcoleptics. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced it. Stage of sleep versus wakefulness.

About a week ago I had a sleep experience that I have never had before, or even close. I woke up suddenly, sitting up even, in a panic and without breath, as if I had been submerged in water for minutes. I gasped and gasped until I had enough air back in my lungs. Took a while to relax again and go back to sleep. Nothing similar has happened since. Weird. Not like your situation though.

Started a new batch of wine today. A 2019 Limited Edition kit. A blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage and Grenache - all grown in the Cape area of South Africa. It'll make a dry, full bodied red wine with medium to heavy oak. Looking forward to this one. Here's a couple pictures of the home winemaking process. The juice is important, but to get the best color and flavor you need to include grape pulp, skins, a few seeds ..... So the kit comes in a syrupy/jelly mixture which is poured into a muslin bag, knotted and dropped into the juice. Then to get the oak flavor that usually comes from barrels, you add oak to the juice. Here is oak sawdust and toasted oak "chips" before they were stirred into the juice.

My brother suffered from that several years ago. He didn't use a CPAP. I don't think he got any medication for it. After awhile it stopped.

Sounds frightful. After hearing this hope I’ll never have to use a CPAP. Curious to know if there’s a common cause behind it?

If this persists, see an MD and get tested. A CPAP is a blessing for us older types.

I decided to cancel the trip to Wichita to see my brother. He has seen an incredible outpouring of support from family and friends, and with the pandemic really ratcheting up in Kansas, it is best for him to spend some time alone. In spite of the sorrow, he is doing well. Nevertheless, feeling melancholy, this is a song that all is brothers have always has conveyed our feelings to one another.
