Dense fog and rainy mist my favorite as long as it is not hot. Good coffee at the desk as I work on sharpening the kitchen knives. Chicago Cutlery from the 80s not sure if the new stuff is any good. But these have never rusted and they are not stainless. Boring stuff. Tried that too many times...found I was doing more damage than good...found a great guy with a square belt sander that does the job in minutes and sharp as can be! I have a set of the paper wheels set up for sharpening knives. They can put a razor edge on a knife in seconds and they don't seem to wear down the knives much at all. In between we use a steel or a diamond steel for the harder knives like Wustoff.

I saw an old friend this morning who recently has been showing signs of Dementia.I hadn't seen him in a couple of months..He's on medication now and doing a lot better. It was great to see acting like his jovial self..At least for now. something like that is a joy to see. I hope the medication works for a long time.

Have to meet with my lawyer tomorrow to try to get 5K that's owed me from a job I did 3 months ago. I already have a judgement against the guy but he still hasn't paid in the 30 days he was ordered to pay so I have to file to get permission to remove the equipment. I have to admit after going through all the hassle to get paid with no result I do love showing up with a Sheriff's Deputy and a crane to get my equipment back.

Spent entirely too much of this windy day under the ol' truck with Will (my son) working on the exhaust. Accomplished exactly nothing. After-market pipes will NOT stay together where it makes the bend and heads up to the turbo, no matter how much we clamp it. Gonna have to find me a welder, I guess.

Sorry you have to go through this, Ken...people that do this (not paying for what they bought) should have to face jail time in addition to paying you what they owe...jail time for contempt of court order! Overcast day...good day for smoking on the porch!

Last few days of my classes.... the instructor is a cigar smoker, occasional pipe, retired firefighter, and firearms instructor from Denver....we had a discussion in class about the benefits of smoking natural leaf tobaccos instead of cigarettes.
Hourly we break for smokes, long lunch today, he busted out a Churchill.

Running around this morning trying to someone with a welder to fix my truck exhaust. Think I found someone who will be available Saturday. I try to be handy with most things, but I do hate doing my own auto mechanics.

I hear you Dewayne, when I moved back on the farm, I was driving an old 96 Range Rover, went on the back forty and cane farmer had ditched a steep ditch for drainage, crossed it on a 45 but still drug. Screwed up exhaust, Range Rover place in New Orleans wanted 1500$ to fix. I went in the small town of Abbeville, and found a local muffler shop, young man put it on the lift looked at it said I can make you a new exhaust system with converter for 350$, get on it I said. That boy was an artist at bending pipe, welded it up so pretty. Come payment time I gave him 350$, and asked this your shop, yes sir he said me and my Dad, he’s sick at home right now. I gave him another 100$ , told him you saved me a lot of money. He told me I ain’t never been tipped in this business, glad to be the first I said. Down the road I found out I had gone to school with his Dad.

I had to have the exhaust welded when I dropped the Hemi in my 69 Roadrunner, and the local Midas had a good reputation. The guy was ex-navy undersea welder and he did the most beautiful job I have ever seen. I can't tack two pieces of steel together.

A very pleasant pipe (Proper English/Tompkins Plateau) in a very unpleasant B&M cigar shop (Jerry's on N. Oracle). There is quite a lovely barnyard note to the aroma of this Stokkebye blend! You sure don't have much luck finding a nice place to hang out and chill. I miss the APC crowd at Joyce White’s (tobacco goddess) Royal Cigar in Atlanta.

Last night one of my kids cracked the toilet tank in the main bathroom. I just finished redneck patching it with epoxy, because I cant afford to have the land lord fix it and bill me... Here's hoping it works!

I'm doing it on Tuesday at noon because this guy gets his big order in that day and he has a decent sized lunch crowd. Chances are he pays me when the Sheriffs deputy tells him why were there and if he doesn't he will lose more that what he owes me in lost food.

What kind of equipment are you possibly re-posessing?

Ken, What kind of equipment are you possibly re-posessing? Walk in cooler condensing unit and evaporator. I remember when we had one installed outside. Big expense. Critical item. I cannot imagine a restaurant owner not paying. What does he/she think will happen? If the person could not afford 30 days to pay, they should have negotiated terms. Honesty? Remember that ?

Oh, then she can buy a new toilet, Now THAT is an idea, and will ultimately happen when her next check comes in. Till then, I had to epoxy it so they dont need to use the bathroom in the master bedroom (my room)
