Well since the saved the 11 kids from the Amalia New Mexico compound it is probably best to put your trust in Honeywell or Lasko. I use the Honeywell HCE845 it sips power and keeps my bedroom toasty warm on quiet mode. I got my clean security blanky back yesterday so I am set for the rest of the winter. I have a 34 inch Lasko 1500 Watt. It has been on low or high constantly for a week. I just shut it down today as the Kitchen reached 64 degrees. I can just imagine how my electric bill will be. Still, that is better than those very cold mornings.

My little heater costs about a dollar a day it runs on high about two hours a day for bath time. Much cheaper than cold medicine or a doctors visit. The OptiFlame built in fireplace costs a little more to run. The Dometic propane natural gas 40000btu sucks two gallons of propane a day and it will run you outside looking to cool off. We don't run that too often at least not all day. But then the fifth wheel is only 400sqft with all the slides out.

I'm now off for a week's annual leave. I plan to do as little as possible.

My wife is making me coffee and heating up one third of my Cinnabon after reminding me to take my meds. That means I am either going die in my sleep or play with the kids mother. Either way I am a lucky man. Picked up a Maglite XL50 for under twenty dollars new in the case. I have decided to only put the batteries in only when I plan to use it. The new big Maglite D cell got a sleeve made from 1inch gray plastic electrical conduit and loaded with C cells solving the if the battery leaks it ruins the light problem. The ninja chihuahua slept most of day away on the big bed I think she is in princess mode after dealing with fireworks let off by the local yokels for several days since new years. I am also glad I am too old and beat up to be called back to the middle east for a third tour of madness in the sandbox. So long Qassim sorry to have missed you. I had a lot of respect for Lion of Panjshir, Ahmad Shah Massoud who managed to hold off both the Soviets and the Taliban. Without him i dont know if Afganistan would be a country today. If you have never heard of him there are videos on YouTube as well books. Sadly he lost his life in 2001 by assassination.

I reckon I'll do that a few times, although the weather sucks at the minute. It's warmer than average but it's bucketing.

I got back to the hotel tonight after a day of training, even though Embassy suites has a complementary reception hour (cheap drinks), and generous per diem pay, the front desk notified me that the company I work for upgraded me to top shelf on all drinks through the week and dinner for the night and that there will be a big shebang in Detroit Thursday night We had a great lunch catered by a phenomenal bbq (In Livonia, go figure), and the hotel has complementary made to order breakfasts... so in spite of myself, I can pocket per diem pay...
Kinda nice treatment for this old buzzard... Being a teamster for so many years precluded me from ever getting this type of treatment... if it were given to me, everyone else with seniority could file on it and the company would be on the hook.
I digress, a different business model with higher profit margins.
Pretty soon this carriage will turn into a pumpkin and I will be the ragged rat coachman and be ridden hard and put up wet.

0 degree morning warming to +20.
My neighbor's dog came over and is out romping in the snow with my dog. Great to see them get play and exercise after being cooped up so long with the serious cold. Not like today!

I don't think I have been to beach when it is pouring buckets. I have been on business trips with open bars and have seen many a man fired for over indulging. I once had to cover the bar tab at a company Christmas Party, there was shock and awe at the main office with that expense report. Ah good times.

Yeah Sean, I saw that tonight with a couple engineers, it was sad to see people take a leave of their senses when someone' else is paying.

Wide awake and drinking my first 16oz espresso because that's what I do. Its 32 degrees outside and the weather must be changing at least my built in deluxe erector set tells me so. I am watching Sea Wolf in black and white the background is unspoiled California complete with oil derricks and the famous palms trees. All the cars have giant tail fins and the and the boats are made of wood and the men all wear those old school detective hats.

-6 degrees (F). Dawns continue to be below zero each morning. House is 58 degrees and should be warmer as soon as the wood stove has a chance and the Lasko tower heater is on full 1500 watts of power. I hope my electric meter is up to this many rotations of the wheel!!! Already, in the Town of Taos, the managers of the Rural Electric Cooperative are lighting their cigars with $20 bills in anticipation of my next bill.
This is not so much my complaining as it is me attempting to deal with a Winter colder than most.

Coldest morning yet this year in SE Texas. 36F! House behind us has frost on the roof! Good thing I had a whiskey last night. Off to the chiropractor after I get bundled up. 😁🤠

Today was much cooler that yesterday (yesterday was almost tropical in comparison (60F)). Went for a walk along the beach for a mile or so and then went for lunch using a voucher we got for Christmas.
Annual leave is great.

37 degs here, Sunny, no wind beautiful, garbage hasn’t passed since Christmas, got 2 big cans full, pulling them suckers to the road, 4 cats following me, I have catdogs, they are cats but act like dogs. Back s killing me hadn’t been able to walk on my treadmill for a week and a half. Been watching news, Iran playing a dangerous game, they ain’t gonna win and innocent people on both sides will suffer.

Had Ice on my windows when I got in the car. Hit the washer, and didnt let the wipers run long enough so the leftover iced over! Yup, it was colder than normal here in the valley of the sun. Off to work I went, now I sit in a cozy office.

Would Yoga, light stretches and such, help at all or would that follow under the heading of "Stupid"?

The sire follows me through the snow while I drag hay bales to feed the big critters. If I take a walk down the road, he is behind me. He is a long haired orange cat and I was told that he is from a breed known as "Norwegian Forrest Cats". I looked them up online and he fits the description. Sorry about the sore back. That plagues me too if I screw up movements. Lumbar disc displacement.
