Drove into Taos today to play cards with friends. It was then, I noticed these guys on the main street. PERFECT!!!! You could run that cart through most of Miami...actually I'd help pull the damn thing! Better watch out Sean, you could be on top of the heap, if Momma decides she has had enough.

Much appreciated. It's not that I'm intimidated by it, I just dont feel like doing it. I'm working a short day tomorrow, so I'll jump on it then. Never thought you were afraid of it I just know what a pain in the butt these things can be, and having a helping hand or even just someone to talk to whilst you do it can make a difference. Maaaannnn..... have you ever got your arse kicked by a harmonic balancer bolt? I did for 5 hours yesturday. I finally finished up at around 3am. Car is running, timing is correct, all sorts of gaskets replaced, blah blah blah.... Its done.

I have been dragged all over the far north side of Houston today and my feet hurt. Got a new Weber Jumbo JOE 18 grill that you can sit on top of a picnic table and stow away in fifth wheel basement. Weber has a ten year warranty on some of the nicer grills when i saw this model i had to have it. Much nicer than the smaller 14 inch grill in every way. Saw a couple of people wearing masks and had a nice shrimp fajita lunch. Bonus we do not owe taxes.

Oh today I saw gas for 1.74 a gallon. I would love to see a decline in fuel prices but do not expect much. Motor fuel distribution is a monopoly in northern NM and prices rarely dip much. I follow diesel mostly nad that is around $2.78.

I tried to post 4 pictures, but I ended up with the same one twice. I will post more when I get home. These churches, built by Czech immigrants, are amazing. I know what you mean. My wife hasn't been a Catholic for 45 years, but she dipped her fingers and crossed herself. I can never remember how.

Does it count as date night if we decided to hide from the (adult) kids in our room and watch youtube videos together whilst sipping on our drink of choice?

I turn 60 in November, so retirement looms on the horizon...I finally set up an online SS account, and if I retire at 62, my pension and SS will pretty much be what is a current 40 hour week salary from my teamster job...with the 401k, we should be ok if we live in moderation.
I think that I am going to shoot for 62 and not go the full retirement age of 67...yeah, 10K more per year if I wait until then, but all them years you are working to pay uncle sam, and there are no guaranteed tomorrows....I have worked pretty much continuously since 1979, never on assistance once..(Had a few workmen's comp claims, but between payroll deductions and my employer contributions that wasn't assistance)...Uncle Sam has sure extracted a lot of money off me over the years...
I once had to cut a check to him for $16k in 1989...that sure hurt, as I was a paycheck to paycheck dad supporting a family of 5.

Got a new Weber Jumbo JOE 18 grill that you can sit on top of a picnic table and stow away in fifth wheel basement. I am interested in hearing your opinion after a test drive...specifically if you do any indirect grilling. I started with a smokey joe in the days of my youth, and for me and the wife and 1 kid it did the trick for grilling. As the family grew I got the Classic Kettle, and I started doing indirect grilling...that kettle turned out phenomenal whole prime rib that time after time I was told was the best people had ever had. Went to an offset smoker that I have had for years, that needs refurbishment... Found a like new smokey Joe at Goodwill for a few bucks which is great for the wife and me...but the fire grate and cooking grate are too close to do indirect grilling...wondering if the Jumbo Joe can bridge that gap...probably not a prime rib, but maybe a chicken or medium roast?

There is roughly 4 inch between the charcoal grate and the meat grate. I just got back from the store and lit it with some honey on the coals. The honey will coat the inside making it a bit more rust resistant. I have laid out beef ribs in the marinade and those take a good while to smoke for tenderness. Since we are empty nesters we have been using the small Ol Smokey and it works fine but it is over in storage 45 miles away. The lid on this can be locked down and it has a holder built in. I got a good deal on this new grill and as I assembled it i thought it was well thought out. I will try a snake line of lump charcoal briquettes off to the side to try ad keep the direct heat off the ribs and lets see what happens. It does have a ten year warranty unlike the cheaper models, Weber jumbo Joe 18. It is short enough to put under the fifth wheel or in one of the storage basements Dimensions 220x20x20 18lbs.

Excellent Idea...thanks for the tip, Sean...will have to try it on the grill I am using which is an old solid aluminum casing with new/old guts inside from other grills...heavier steel in the grate and on the bottom to keep the coals from eating the thin steel that was there originally.

Ok after making the beef ribs for slow smoking about one chicken, maybe four game hens. For sure could not do a full blown turkey. The handles on the food grate are the best as i had to add charcoal about four times in five hours. I also think i will make a finer charcoal grate with some expanded metal to use with lump style charcoal that comes in all sizes. I believe with a stone one could make a proper pizza like Andre across the big pond.
