Anyone know how to work a petrol strimmer? I can't get the bloomin' thing to work! If they haven't been used they are notoriously hard to start. Dump any remaining fuel. Add oil to the gas first before adding to the tank. Let it set for 10 minutes. If it has a choke, use it. If it doesn't start then check the spark plug. If that looks OK try again. Then take it to the shop. It was sitting for about 3 years so you have a point. I got it going for about 3 seconds and then it stopped. I wonder where the spark plug is. I must have a wee look and see if I can spot it. Cheers Ron.

The carburetor is probably clogged. Kitchen table if the wife will allow it.

Spent the morning researching Singer sewing machines for wife, she’s bought a passel of them at thrift marts, Goodwill. Most are made in the 40s, Older Son wants a machine to sew Cordura and leather for gun mats. Hers were all made in Elizabeth N J. Very cool. I remember my grandmother using one like that. She made everything from quilts to clothes. 😀

The southern way is to open it up and spray a little bit of starter fluid in the choke. Once started, run it wide open. If that doesnt work, rip it apart and clean everything.
Also, take the spark plug out and make sure there isnt anything built up on it
If need be, take pictures as you go.
A left over nut, bolt, or seal is perfectly acceptable. But if that happens, start completely over.

That is what I thought back in the 60's when I took apart a carburetor..had a few nuts and bolts left over also a seal...damn thing still worked but was the last time I tried that. Realized there was a good reason for mechanics that knew what they were doing.

What if I'm dismantling my whole car with explosives?
I'm so tired of messing with it that I would rather it return to basic elements. I've NEVER had such a problem.

I just ordered a clutch kit and flywheel. This WILL BE the last time I take the transmission off this car.
The next time I WILL BE ordering enough tannerite to get flagged by the government... if I'm not already

We went crazy and drove to Woodville to look at houses we can't afford. At least we got out of the house even though we didn't get out of the truck for 250 miles. Barely made it to Kroger in time to pick up our online order. I had to drive 95mph and made it with 4 minutes to spare. At least there wasn't any traffic. 👺😎🤠🤪🙏

My clutch shipped already and should be here Saturday... which sucks. That means I need to get my trans out and things cleaned up so it's ready.
If I ever took a break from "doing," I would most likely die

If I ever took a break from "doing," I would most likely die I remember pulling a 4 Speed transmission from a 1950 Chevy pick-up. I had a 4 X 4 run through the window frames with ropes and a homemade tranny harness. Was that ever NOT fun. Actually, that rig worked well enough to get the tranny out and back in. Those old 4-Speed SM420 Muncie truck transmissions were heavy. Reliable, though. Lowest Compound Low gear of any truck back then.

Those old 4-Speed light truck transmissions were heavy. Reliable, though. I used to swap out the torque converter for race days, as well as the gears on the Roadrunner. By myself in the driveway. I put it all back when I got home. Young people can do anything. Those old TorqueFlights weighed a couple of pounds. 160 less fluid and converter to be exact

Sheriff's Deputies on the highway state line stopping cars inbound from Colordao. If they do not have a good reason to enter NM, it is go back home and stay there.

Sorry we lost John Prine. The saddets part is we will never hear his song about his death which he certainly would have written if he could!

With all that John Prine has been through, I bet it would be a classic funny one that makes fun of going out with CV-19 out of the freaking blue! I consider myself blessed to have seen him perform very early in his career and again in recent times.

Last night I was in Santa Fe, headed to Espanola and then on to Taos and back...it was a beautiful drive, very pretty going through the Rio Grande canyon gorge. It was very scenic, much like the Arkansas River is between Canyon City and Salida Colorado. Both rivers are much more scenic when closer to the source... cleaner water and great trout fishing opportunities, not many opportunities for me to gaze very long at, and few places to pull over..much less take a picture. I hoped to meet up with John (Toshtego) if the timing worked out, but I got into town too early to lay over. It sucks with the restaurants being closed, while in New Mexico my phone alert went off from the governor of the state telling all to stay home. There will be another time when restaurants are open, the weather is fair and we can have a smoke. I was able to snap a few pictures between Albuquerque and Gallup, nowhere near the canyon ride. As time goes by and I am familiar with the turnouts and can anticipate a pullout, I will snap a few shots.Proud to say...from Taos to Gallup, not a single truck passed me. I do travel light, but the running gears on this truck and the torque make the trip a bit nicer. It is a 2013 Kenworth, I have driven 2019 Kenworth's and they suck badly in comparison on every level.

Whenever I fly somewhere and see all the greenery below me I think wow, that looks nice. Until at least here in the USA, a lot of the green places are mosquito heaven. We visited my wife’s sister and husband in Virginia and along with the humidity, day or night it sucked going outdoors.

So Charlie, which engine, tranny and diffs are you running in that KW?
My only experience with big trucks was an Autocar with a Hall Scott OHC I-6, Brownie Spicer 4/3 trannies and Timken Double Reduction rear end. I am a little out of date with new developments.
Also, the place you want to stop is immediately out of the gorge. There is a rest stop, big area. Fantastic view of the Taos area and the mounatins with the Rio Grande Gorge running along.

Returned home from the town of Taos. The stores are in better supply. This is because the Governor has limited the number of people who can enter at any one time. Lines outside in front. It seems to affect the panic buying. Still no flour, beans, rice, noodles, sugar, tuna, coffee.
CHecked on my Ex-wife. She is holding her own but still very sick. The medicine regimen is debilitating.
